How I Manage My Blog

I know that I have already mentioned this a couple of times over the past couple of weeks, but I feel like I have fallen back in love with blogging. For a very long time, my blog felt more like a chore than anything else, but after stripping it back, I have found a new-found love for it all over again. My blog is something that I am still very passionate about and I adore working hard on content and then seeing it come to live. I think the most rewarding thing when it comes to blogging has to be getting feedback from people and actually knowing that people appreciate what I am doing and the lengths that I am going to.

Anyway, I thought that for today’s blog post I would share with you guys some of the ways that I manage my blog on an everyday kind of basis. Even though I said that I have stripped it back a little, there is still so much work that goes into it. I know that looking at a blog from the outside it can seem like it is only a quick thing to throw together a post, but there is so much that you need to think about both short term and long term, so I thought that I would create a post all about how I do it and keep on top of the work!

Make Lists for Everything
Lists are the main thing that keep me on track. I have a list for all of the lists that I have. I know that it is a little bit of overkill, but it is what works for me. I have lists for the posts I am going to write, the images I need to take and all of the things that I have coming up. I find that when I can see things clearly wrote out, I can visualise and process them much better and I know what I have coming up. Make lists and notes and I am sure that it will really help you out.

Visualise My End Goal
When I am sat down in my office on a weekend working away when I should be out with my friends, I think about the end game and what I want to get out of it. Whether that be comments, reaching new people or even getting feedback from a brand. I always think about what I want the end result to be and I strive towards it and I make sure that I work hard. I know that I am never going to become a millionaire from blogging, but I appreciate everything that I get back!

Be Able to Work on The Go
Working on the go is something that is so important for me. Whether it be replying to comments on my iPhone, popping posts together on the train on my MacBook or taking pictures while I am out and about. It just helps to ease my workload by doing things when I’m not in the house and that way I haven’t got a list as long as my arm of things to do when I sit down at my computer to get some work done. I always make sure that I am able to do some work, even when I am on vacation!

Do Things in Bite-Size Chunks
Sometimes, I set myself big ass projects and, in my head, I would love to be able to get them done and completed all at once, but in reality, that simply isn’t possible. I make sure that when I set myself goals, they are realistic. I work in bite-sized chunks and that way I know that I am going to get my work done, I am not going to burn out and I will be proud of what I have done at the end of the day. It took me a long time to realise that this was what I needed to do, but it made me so much happier!

Work as Hard as I Can Without Distractions
Because these days I make sure that I only have set blogging hours, I make sure that in that time I work hard I want to achieve everything that I have set. I am very easy to be distracted, whether it be by my phone or a TV programme. I distance myself from everything and I just crack on with my work. It can take a while for me to get into the zone, but when I am set and ready to get working, I am really away with it!

I hope that you guys liked this blog post and that it helps you out if you are new to the world of blogging. The best thing to do is just throw yourself into it and find out what works the best for you. We are all different and what works for me, may not work for you. Make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know some of the ways that you manage your blog!

  2. Lists are my best friend and I like to schedule specific times to blog which helps a lot with keeping it on track besides working full time.

  3. What a great post! I like doing things in chunks too, it can be a lot easier than doing it all in one go. I find it makes proof reading easier too, as it can be done whilst going along and then again at the end. Lists are a lifesaver too xx

  4. To-do lists are everything, I couldn't get anything done without them! I have a daily to-do list as well as a weekly one and I even have lists for blog posts I want to write, photos I want to take and I even add things like 'make bed' to my to-do list to make myself feel more productive haha. Also breaking down large tasks into smaller chunks makes all the different.

  5. I wrote a similar post to this all about how I plan my blog content and avoid writers block. I too cannot work without numerous lists. I love to colour code them too so it's visually pleasing!
