My Spring Skincare Routine

When it comes to skincare, I really am the laziest person in the world. I know that I should be using skincare daily, especially with the amount of makeup that I wear on a daily basis, but I just cannot be bothered. I even have all of the skincare products that I need sat on a shelf on my vanity, but there is just no part of me that can be bothered to use them at all. I know that all of the skincare junkies out there are probably sweating in their seat while you read this blog post, but skincare just isn’t for me. But I fear that by the age of 30 I will look like a wrinkly mess, so I am forcing myself to delve into skincare and create some kind of routine.

So, I thought that in this blog post I would share with you guys my lazy girl skincare routine. I class this kind of routine as been one step up from just rubbing my face with a wet wipe at the end of the day, but it still isn’t quite a full-blown skincare routine. This is just simple, quick and it seems to work for me which is the main thing in my mind. All products are relatively cheap and easy to get your hands on, so I have really settled into this routine and I am loving it at the moment!

CLEANSE
To start off my skincare routine, I still do go in with a good old makeup wipe. I use the Simple ones that you can pick up at any drugstore and they do a good job at getting the bulk of my makeup off. Then, I will go in with my Clinique Take The Day Off Balm and really work that into my skin. This is the step that makes me feel very guilty because I see how much more makeup this lifts from my skin and I would normally leave it at the makeup wipe stage. I then take a damp flannel and remove all of the residual makeup from my skin!

TONE
When my skin is completely free of makeup, it is then time for me to go in with my toner. I took some time to look into toners because I didn’t know what really separated them, surely a toner is a toner. After looking into them, I realised that it wasn’t the case. I settled for the Pixi Toner because it is a mid-range price and people seemed to rave about it. I now take some of this stuff on a cotton round and I pat that into the skin, very gently. I feel like since I have started doing this, I have noticed that my skin is much smoother and more perfected with my pores much less noticeable!

MOISTURISE
The last step of my routine is slathering myself in moisturiser from head to toe. For my body all the way up to my neck, I go in with my good old Nivea Extra Nourishing Moisturiser because it is very hydrating and soaks in within an instant. For my face I am still completely obsessed with the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream because it feels wonderfully nourishing on the skin and then for my eyes, I use my Origin Ginzings Eye Cream. I just feel like those two on my skin together really is a hydrating dream team!

I know that compared to some, this routine isn’t all that much, but it is still a damn site better than when I was doing beforehand. I still struggle to do this some days, because I cannot be arsed with it, but I think about being a wrinkly 40 year old and I force myself into it. As always, I will leave a link down below to some of these products in case you want to check them out for yourself. Make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know some of the products that you use and love as part of your skincare routine and I will have to get my hands on them and check them out for myself!

  3. This is a nice and simple routine. A lot of people rave about toners, but I've never seen the use. I go straight to moisturising after cleansing. Ha!!

  6. I am so lazy with my skincare too! It's probably the one thing I refuse to really mix up/ change because I know what works for me so I just don't switch it up! I really do need to get back into toning again, I loved the pixi glow tonic for such a long time! xx

  7. Woops, I'm such a bad comment-back-er, so sorry! Thanks for always checking my posts out xxx
I definitely spot some of my skincare favourites in here, I keep repurchasing the Clinique Moisture Surge lately and also their cleansing balm is in my routine at the moment, and I love it!

The Pixi glow Tonic I'm using right now, too. Don't know why I'd never tried it sooner but ever since I did, I can't be without it!

I bet the origins eye cream is amazing, can you compare it to any other products I might have tried? Like any eye cream from Clinique, or the Kiehl's avocado one? I really like that one!
