My Ideal Pamper Evening

Every now and again I get to a stage where I am in dire need of a good old pampering. I feel like I power through everything that I have to do whether it be work, blog, wedding or home buying related and then I am left feeling like I am running on empty by the end of it. So, every now and again I just need to disconnect from everything that I have going on and regroup by having a good old pamper weekend. I wish I was the kind of person that could head to the salon for a couple of hours, but I hate the idea of people touching me, so I kick everybody out of the madhouse that I call a home and I dedicate some time to myself for a change!

I think that every now and again it is so healthy to have some time to yourself and just focus on yourself for a change. I can get so busy fussing around other people and making sure they are ok, that I tend to forget myself. I think that is something that most of us are probably guilty off and I can not even imagine what it must be like if you are a parent. So, I get in from work, lock the door and shut the world away and have some much needed ‘me time’. I don’t do this very often, but when I do, I make sure that I really do make the most out of it.

Start Out with A Big Bubble Bath
I first like to start out by running myself a really nice big bath and having a good old sock for an hour or so. I make sure that I use a Lush bath bomb or two and some lovely bath oil to make it really lovely and luxurious. I only have a bath every once in a blue moon because of how big it is and how long it takes to fill, it really is worth it once I am laid in it. I tend to take my iPad in with me and I watch a movie or a couple episodes of something and that kickstarts me actually relaxing and disconnecting for a change.

Eat All of My Favourite Foods
Once I am out of the bath, I then like to cosy up on the sofa and eat my own bodyweight in all of my favourite foods. For me, my favourite foods normally consist of chicken pakora, pilau rice, chicken and spinach Balti and a large garlic naan. I could eat Indian food all day every day, but because I try and keep an eye on what I eat, I stay away from it most of the time, but when I am planning on indulging in my favourite foods, I really go for it and get everything that I want. I will normally wait a while and then wash all of that down with some chocolate, my preference at the moment is Magic Stars!

Watch My Homely/Wintery Movies AKA Harry Potter
There is nothing more that I love from a good old movie and at this time of the year I feel like I always opt for Harry Potter. I would genuinely love to know how many times I have re-watched all of the movies because it must be tottering into the hundreds at this point, but I just love them so much. I can remember when I was in my teens, I didn’t know if I could still watch them as grown up, but I actually think that I love them now even more. They are just so nostalgic for me because I grew up with them and I love to cosy down with them!

Face Masks and Manicure
Once I have my good movie on the TV, that is when I get going with my pamper. I start with slapping a face mask on, normally I either do a sheet mask or a peel off so that I don’t have to spend ages washing my face. Then while my face mask is on, I give myself a full gel manicure and pedicure. At this time of year, I normally like to opt for a lovely deep burgundy shade because I feel like it just ties in perfectly with this time of the year. I can spend most of the evening slowly doing them, but I always love how they turn out in the end!

Get in Bed Early and Light Candles
One of the best things about a good old pamper night is crawling into bed nice and early. I shut the blind, light shit loads of candles and then I normally watch some trashy TV. I normally pile myself in loads of blankets and snuggle up with my lovely Golden Retriever Martha. Because it is me, I am normally actually fast asleep within 10 minutes, but that is just what I like to do when I crawl into bed and it tops off my pamper evening perfectly!

I hope that you guys enjoyed this blog post. Like I said, it isn’t very often that I get to a point where I feel like I have to do this, but every now and again I feel like it just helps me to relax and regroup before starting all over again. 1. I love these ideas! Harry Potter is such a good go to cosy movie especially during the colder months of the year. It just makes everything feel so magical! I love having a good relaxing bath as well. I think I'm due a pamper night as my skin is definitely in need of some extra care xx

  10. Mine is very similar! I wish I lived somewhere I could have a nice long bath regularly - I definitely indulge in Netflix, popcorn and a face mask on an evening in though :)

  11. You can't beat a pamper evening! I love nothing more than lighting all my Yankee candles and having a bubble bath. I like to use Friday's for pampering now that I'm an old woman and barely go on nights out!!
