My Christmas Day Makeup Menu

I thought that for today’s blog post, I would share with you the makeup that I am going to be wearing tomorrow. I never really used to wear makeup on Christmas day, because all I tend to do is just lounge around with my family, so I never really felt the need to have a full face of makeup on. But, the past few Christmases have taught me that on Christmas, my family gets a little snap happy, especially after a few drinks and there are photos all over Facebook. I don’t mind them uploading pictures to Facebook, what bothers me is when I am the only one that hasn’t made an effort and I look like the family mong. So, this year I am pulling out all of the stops and going the full hog to make sure that I look somewhat acceptable.

All of the products that I’m going to mention in this post are things that I know and love. I would dare try anything new on a day like Christmas when I want everything to look good and stay in place all day long. Not to mention that no doubt later in the day when we have all had a couple drinks we will either laugh until we cry or reminisce until we cry, so either way, I am anticipating crying. I’m going to try and keep this a short post, so without any more rambling on, I will jump into the post…

The first thing that I do is prep my face. I am going to go in with generous lashings of my Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream. I am needing this at the minute because my skin has been so painfully dry recently. Then over the top of that to make my skin look healthy and glowing, I will go in with my trusty Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow Primer. Then just in the areas where I need it, I will add a touch of my Cover FX Matte Primer. I really just use this around my nose where I can get oily throughout the day and it just helps to keep my makeup in place all day long. Once I have gone in with all of these products, I will just leave my skin 5 minutes or so, to help the products soak into the skin.

Up next, it is time to go in with my base products, which is my favourite bit. For foundation, I am going to use my Becca Ultimate Cover Foundation. I have mentioned this quite a few times over the past year, but I love this because it is ultimate coverage (as the name suggests), and it lasts all day long, which I need on a day like Christmas. To conceal my horrific dark circles, it has to be my beloved Tarte Shape Tape, I am still not over this and I still haven’t found anything that works quite as well as this does. To bring some dimension back into my face and make me slightly more angular, it has to be my Cover FX Contour Palette, I love this stuff and reach for it all of the time. I will then lock all of that into place using my Laura Mercier Translucent Powder.

Once my base is finished and locked into place, it is time to move onto the eyes. I want to keep my eyes pretty neutral and go for a bold lip. To start with, I will take my Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise in the shade Bette and take this lightly all over my MAC 217 brush. I may also take a little Benefit Hoola through my crease if I think I need a little more definition. To line my eyes, I am going to use my well loved Seventeen High Drama Eyeliner, I use this stuff all of the time and I think that it is massively underrated. After giving my eyelashes a good curl I will apply my Benefit They’re Real Mascara and then go in and apply my Huda Beauty Lashes in Samantha.

For my brows, I am going to try and keep them quite light because of how simple my eye look is going to be, I don’t want my naturally very full eyebrows to overpower the whole look. So, as normal I am going to take my Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil and fill in any sparse areas. I will then lock them into place with my beloved Anastasia Brow Gel. While that is drying, I will take my Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade in the shade Chocolate and add some depth to my brows, in particular on the tail of the brow. I do this every single day, and I have really been loving how my brows have looked this past year.

Once my eyes and brows are all finished, it is time to finish the face off. I think I am going to bypass blusher, and just use a tonne of bronzer. To start with I will go in with my Benefit Hoola Bronzer and add a light dusting of this all over the face to try and add a little depth and colour to my face. I find that this is more of a very light contouring shade for me with it being a light and all matte shade. Next, to add a little more colour and dimension to my face, I will go in with my Milani Baked Bronzer which has really been a favourite of mine recently. Lastly, to contour with I will take my MAC Studio Fix Powder in the shade NW58.

To top the whole, look off, think the only thing that will work is a classic red lip. My all time favourite lip combination when I am going for red is Ruby Woo by MAC. I use both the Ruby Woo lip liner and the same lipstick, and I think it is just a stunning combination. It is really blue red, and it will look really nice when paired with a simple eye and bronzed skin.

As normal. I will leave a link to everything that I have mentioned down below in case you want to check anything out. Make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know what your go to product are when it comes to something like Christmas!

  5. My go-to Christmas make up product(s) are lush eyelashes (not fake - the effort! - but a good few coats of mascara, but before my lashes turn spidery) and a red lippy. Both usually bought from Mac
