Milani Baked Bronzer Review

Today's blog post is going to be another product review and this time it is a drugstore makeup item. I know that I don’t talk about drugstore very much here on my blog and that is something that I really want to work on. I do get comments from time to time asking if I will review more drugstore items and as much as I do want to, they just don’t tend to really work for me. I have combination skin, which can be very hard to buy for and it is that reason why I tend to opt for higher-end makeup items. But, for my first drugstore post in a very long time, I thought that I would start out with the Milani Baked Bronzer.

I have wanted to try this Milani Baked Bronzer for such a long time because it seems so popular amongst bloggers and YouTubers. I have seen so many people using this over the years and I cannot deny that it looks incredible and that is why I wanted to try this out for myself. I think that only thing that put me off from trying this for such a long time was because before they started selling Milani on Beauty Bay, I would have to buy this from Amazon and I have had so many disasters doing that over the past couple of years. But, one day I was putting in an order over on Beauty Bay and decided to buy this for myself.

The first thing that I want to talk about in this Milani Baked Bronzer Review is the packaging. If you have read my reviews before, you will know that I always start out with the packaging. Now, the packaging of this Milani Baked Bronzer is quite cheap feeling. To touch, it feels very plastic and not at all high-end. Does this bother me? Not at all. I would rather pay a decent price point for a product than it has fancy packaging and have to pay through the nose for it. When you open the product and lift up the pan it has a decent sized mirror and a brush with it, which personally I will probably never use, but it is a nice touch.

When I first logged onto the Beauty Bay website to pick up this Milani Baked Bronzer, I was surprised to find that they had a couple of different shades in this bronzer. I think that there was 5 to choose from and I got the deepest one, which is a nice match for my skin. I would say that if you have skin that is any deeper than mine that this bronzer wouldn’t be rich enough for your skin, but it may make a nice illuminator because of the shimmer running through it. Even though having 5 shades in the range isn’t particularly inclusive, it is more than what other drugstore brands have to offer when it comes to bronzer shades.

One of the main reasons why I wanted to buy this bronzer was actually one of the reasons that I think puts most people off and that is the shimmer and glitter that is running through it. I know that hell of a lot of people think that all bronzer should be matte, but I like something with a slight shimmer to it. I feel like after I am done with my high coverage foundation and concealer, and I have set my face into place, I need a product such as the Milani Baked Bronzer to inject a little life back into the face.

Now, I want to touch on the consistency and blending of this product. I was a little worried about how well this would blend out with it being a cheaper product and because of the reflects through the powder. When I first took my Tom Ford Bronzer Brush and gave it a swirl in this powder, I noticed just how chalky and powdery it really was. This to me isn’t a good thing, nor a bad thing, but I do tend to gravitate more towards creamier and buttery products like the Marc Jacobs Bronzer. However, when I started applying this to the face I noticed that it blended in to my other powder products so beautifully and laid on the skin really nicely. Even when I went in a touch heavy with this product, I buffed using a duo fibre brush and it looked lovely afterwards.

If you have followed my blog for a while, I am sure that you will know that I somewhat collect bronzers in a similar way to foundations. I have a drawer that is bursting with different bronzers of different tones and by different brands. What I really like about this Milani Baked Bronzer is that it is completely different to anything else that I own. I would say that the closest thing that I have to this is the Too Faced Sweetheart Bronzer, but that is much lighter and has different undertones.

For the fact that I have anything else that is unlike this in my collection, I know that I am going to continue using this and loving it. For the price, I think that it is amazing quality. I am sure that I paid £11 for this from the Beauty bay website and I genuinely do think that you would struggle to find anything on the shelves of the drugstore to match this quality. I will leave a link to this down below in case you want to check it out for yourself. Be sure to leave me a comment and let me know if you have tried this and what your thoughts about it were!

  1. I've always wanted to try Milani! This bronzer sounds so lovely. I love baked products. I've never tried a shimmer based bronzer before as I always opt for matte option but this does sound really lovely x

  3. I don't mind the packaging of milani blushes and bronzers, except for the fact that they are a little chunky and difficult to store when you have many of them haha. I've been eyeing this bronzer for so long but it's always sold out.

  4. This is something that has been on my wishlist forever too, it looks simply magical in tutorials. I am not sure it will have the same effect on my medium/tan skin, what do you think? But glad to hear the quality lives up to the hype. Great post and thanks for sharing Danielle, have a great week xxx

  5. I tried the Milani blushes so far but not the bronzers and I love their shade range, however, a blush has gone bad and started smelling really weird and I threw it away the other day, so strange.

  11. I have been wanting to try some Milani products but honestly I feel like the hype around them has died down...
That being said, it's good to know you love this bronzer so much so I'll add it to my list for when I ever decide to try Milani products... I think the Luminoso blush is also one to look at when I do ;-)
