Gerard Cosmetics Lip Liner in Nude Review

This is the first lip liner that I have bought in a very long time and I just had to write a post all about it. I have had my little eyes on this Gerard Cosmetics Lip Liner in the shade Nude for such a long time. I have seen this shown and used all over YouTube and Instagram and I couldn’t deny that it looked truly stunning. For months it has just sat on my wish list because I didn’t have a clue where I could buy the brand Gerard Cosmetics here in the UK, and it wasn’t until I was just aimlessly scrolling through the Beauty Bay website that I realised that they are a stockist and had the exact shade that I wanted.

I bought this Gerard Lip Liner in the shade Nude because after seeing it online, I thought that it would be the perfect lip liner for my wedding day. After first seeing this, I looked into it a little more and really wanted to try it out. After realising that it was only £12, I didn’t think that I really had much to lose by trying it out, so I bought it for myself. As soon as this come through the mail once I placed my Beauty Bay order, I started wearing this almost immediately and I was completely in love with it. I will say that I have many lip liners and different lipsticks in my collections that are of a similar, but it is this one that I reach for time and time again.

Online, I saw a lot of people comparing this to the infamous Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in the shade Pillow Talk. I am sure if you have read my blog for a while, you will know that I use and love Pillow Talk because it is a truly beautiful shade. For me, the two shades of these lip liners are too different to be considered a dupe of one another. The Gerard Cosmetics Nude Liner is much pinkier in tone, whereas the Charlotte Tilbury is your typical nude lip liner. I will say that the consistency of the lip liners is very similar in how they apply.

For my sisters wedding day, I wanted a very neutral lip. Because I do have a tanned/olive complexion a nude lip just tends to wash me out a little and that is why I wanted something with more pink and neutral undertones. On the day, I layered this Gerard Cosmetics Lip Liner with my MAC Faux Lipstick and the two looked so stunning together. It is even a colour combination that I have been wearing ever since and I adore how it looks.

For most days, I just reach for this lip liner and wear it on its own because it is a very close match to the natural colour of my lips. I can apply this to my lips first thing in the morning and with minimal touching up throughout the day, it still looks lovely in an evening. Obviously with eating and drinking, it does wear ever so slightly throughout the day, but nothing that is too crazy, and it is perfectly normal for a lip liner.

What makes me continue reaching for this lip pencil other than the beautiful shade is how creamy the product is and how well it applies to the lips. It is the creaminess that reminds me of the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheats. Because of how creamy the lip liners are, there is no tugging to the lips when you are applying it. I also find that because it is lovely and creamy it helps to build up your lips if you are slightly overdrawing your lip line ever so slightly.

Since the beginning of the summer when I first tried this out, I have gone back out and bought a second one because I enjoy using it that much. God knows what I would do if they ever discontinued this because it has become such a staple of my everyday makeup routine. I love the shade of it, how it applies, the creaminess and the longevity. I will leave a link to this product down below in case you want to try it out for yourself. Make sure to leave me a comment if you have tried this out and let me know what some of your favourite lip pencils are and I will be sure to try them out!
