My Foundations of the Week!

I did a post similar to this a couple of months back and people seemed to really enjoy reading it, so I thought that I would do another post to update you guys on what I am using at the moment. Over the past week, each time I put my makeup on, I made a note on my phone of the foundation that I was using, and I am going to share them with you in this post. I am sure that if you have visited my blog before, you will be well aware that I am a huge fan of foundations. I reckon that in my collection I have more than enough foundations to wear a different one every single day.

I don’t know what it is about foundation that I love so much. On my skin, I have quite a few areas that I like to try and hide from the darkness underneath my eyes, to the pigmentation on my cheeks. On a daily basis when I am just heading to work, I like to stick to products that are tried, tested and that I know are going to work well for me and my skin. So, all of the products mentioned in this post are what I wore to work this week and what I continue to go back to time and time again. They all work well on my skin, last all day and I love them all for different reasons. Anyway, without any more rambling, here is my week in foundations…

I am sure that it will come as no surprise to most people that I am mentioning the Nars Luminous Weightless Foundation. I feel like last year, I was hooked on the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation and I do still think that is an incredible product, but now I am all about the Nars Luminous Weightless Foundation. Everyday that I apply this foundation, I love the way that my makeup looks. I know it sounds incredibly big headed, but my makeup and skin just look so incredible whenever I reach for this foundation and I really do think that everybody should try it out.

Firstly, this is a full coverage foundation that hides all of my imperfections with ease. It blends into the skin like a dream and looks incredible. Plus, as normal I am the shade Syracuse in this foundation which is always my Nars shade and it is just the most perfect shade for my tanned/olive skin tone. I must be on my third bottle of this since the beginning of the year, which is good going considering how many foundations I have on the go at the same time. I think that it is safe to say beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is my all-time favourite foundation, but then again, Nars can do no wrong in my eyes!

On Tuesday, I needed something that was super quick and easy to apply. I went to spin class before work and that left me all of about 15 minutes to get ready in the changing rooms after my shower and the Hourglass Vanish Foundation stick is the easiest and quickest foundation that I have in my collection. I am sure that most people will have heard of this foundation over the past couple of years and I keep mentioning it because it thinks that it is a great foundation that is well worth the money. I know that when this first came out some people had quibbles about it, but I really do love it.

All I have to do with this foundation is just drawer a couple of lines all over my face, blend it in either using my Morphe M439 or Beauty Blender and I am good to go. The level of coverage is really nice, and it is super easy to apply. I love reaching for this because not only does it have a lovely level of coverage, it lasts beautifully on my skin. I find that the longer that I wear this foundation for, the better it looks on my skin and it is not very often that I can say that about a foundation with me having oily skin. I even have various shades so that I can highlight and contour using these!

On Wednesday I went for one of my favourite foundations that I think is massively underrated. I had heard this Becca Ultimate Cover Cream Foundation being mentioned over the years, but the reviews were always very mixed, so I wanted to get my hands on it to try it out for myself. I finally got around to ordering this from Space NK earlier on in the year and I have to admit that I really bloody love this stuff. It just seems to check every single box that I have and that I want from my foundation. I know that this does divide opinion, but it has quickly become one of my favourite products.

What I love about this foundation in particular is the shade that I have. After swatching hell of a lot of shades in order to try and find my shade, I realised that most of the foundations are quite olive in toned, and that is what matches my natural skin tone the best. I also really love the high level of coverage with these because it covers everything that I need covering with one light layer. This is quite a thick foundation in consistency, but it still blends into the skin like a dream and it has very quickly become one of my favourite foundations from this year and I know I will continue using it for a very long time!

I bought this YSL All Hours Foundation back at the start of this year and I have to admit that I have been loving it ever since. I first saw this on YouTube at the end of 2017 and after I saw my favourite YouTube Casey Holmes using this, I knew that I had to try it out for myself. I know that it sounds super nerdy and a little kiss arsey, but if Casey Holmes likes something then the chances are that I am going to like it too because we both have oily skin and a fair amount to try and hide!

When I got this foundation, from the first time I used it I knew it was going to become one of my favourite products. I love the shade that I am in this foundation because it matches my olive toned skin really well. It blends into the skin like a dream, especially when I pair it with my Morphe M439 Kabuki Brush. It is a nice full coverage foundation that is nice and lightweight on the skin. I would say that this is a matte foundation and keeps the oils around my nose at bay, without clinging to the dry patches around my head and on my cheeks. It is just an all around good foundation that is going to be in my collection for a long time.

By the time it got around to Friday, I really needed some extra coverage, so I decided to use my old reliable Estee Lauder. I went out on Thursday night for cocktails with the girls and I didn’t get back until late and for some reason whenever I have been drinking my skin seems to play up the next day. I woke up today and my pores were very enlarged, and I had so much redness, so something like this with hell of a lot of coverage was the only thing that was going to work for me. To be honest, I wasn’t sure whether to use this or my MAC Full Coverage Foundation, but the Estee Lauder is much more lightweight on the skin!

What I love the most about this Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation is the level of coverage. With this foundation you are never going to get the effortless ‘your skin but better’ kind of look, it is noticeable that you have foundation on, but bloody hell it makes your skin look so perfect. With this on, my skin looks like porcelain and every single one of my imperfections are completely hidden. This is the foundation that I reach for whenever I want a longwearing foundation that will make me look like my skin is flawless. I know that most people will have probably tried and used this foundation because it is such a cult favourite, but I really couldn’t recommend it enough!

There you have it, my whole week and the foundations that I wore. I really like writing these posts, because it gives me a chance to tell people about the products that I keep going back to time and time again. If you want to see my full review of any of these items, click the name of the item above to be taken to that page. I will also leave a link to all of the items down below in case you want to check anything out for yourself. Make sure to leave me a comment and let me know what foundations you have been loving at the moment!
