Cover FX Contouring Palette G-Med Deep Review

I have had my eye on this Cover FX Contouring Palette for such a long time and I am so happy to finally have my hands on this stunning product. I am sure that if you are a makeup lover like I am, then you will have probably seen this product being mentioned all over beauty blogs and YouTube. As much as I wanted to try this out, I also wanted to try out other Cover FX products before this one. If you have followed my blog for some time, you will know that I have slowly but surely been trying out their base products, so I was finally ready to try out this beautiful contouring palette.

When I first went to buy this, it was pretty hard to know which shade of the palette to buy. They do quite a few different shade combinations of this product with various undertones, so I had to try and work out what would work the best for me. I always find that Cover FX have such an incredible shade selection, ranging from incredibly light to very deep, which is incredible. I was amazed when I first tried out Cover FX base products and I saw their huge inclusive shade range. I know that I have said it before, but one of the main reasons why I love this brand is for their shade selection and the different undertones that they cater for.

In this palette, there are the shades G20, G70, G20 and a cream shimmer shade. In the Cover FX Total Cream Foundation and the Oil Free Foundation I am shade G60, which is a perfect match for my skin tone. This palette means that I have a stunning highlighter shade for underneath my eyes, a natural looking contour shade, a more dramatic contouring shade and a shimmer highlighter for the high points of my face. Even if I was to tailor make the palette myself, I don’t think that I could have got the shades as perfect as this palette has. Plus, the ‘G’ on all of the shades means that all of the shades suit golden colouring, which is what I need.

I also really like the packaging of this product. I love that it is a small palette and it is compact enough for me to take with me when I am travelling. Because it is cardboard with a magnetic close, I don’t have to worry about anything breaking if this is in my suitcase. I have said before that Cover FX packaging is never really anything sparking, but it is nice, and it reflects the high-end price that you are paying for the product. I much prefer this packaging to something big and bulky that would take up too much room in my makeup collection.

Now, I want to mention the coverage of these products. I would say that all of the shades are a pretty high coverage. If you were to swatch these shades onto the back of your hand, it would be completely opaque, just like the Cover FX Total Cover Cream Foundations. These are perfect for doing a full highlighting and contouring routine with because the product themselves have enough pigmentation without having to go in with a base foundation or concealer to try and cover up. You can sheer these out using a damp Beauty Blender, but I like to buff them in with my Morphe M439 to keep a high level of coverage.

My personal favourite way of applying this foundation is by going in with my usual base products like moisturiser and primer. Then, I will go in with a light layer of foundation like the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. Once my foundation is in place, I will take my Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Brush and apply these products in the areas where I want them. I put G20 underneath my eyes, centre of the forehead, centre of the chin and down the bride of my nose. I will then take G70 and take that roughly around the parameter of my forehead to bronze and warm up the skin. Then, I will pick up G90 and apply this precisely into the areas where I want a harsh contour. I will then take either a damp Beauty Blender and push it into place or my Morphe M439. To finish off the look I will set it with powder and then apply a small amount of the shimmer shade to my high points.

Each of these shades are lovely and creamy, which makes them apply to the skin and blend in like an absolute dream. With next to no effort at all, they melt into the skin and any other products that you may have on underneath. I have tried other products like this over the years, but I think that it is safe to say that this is one of my favourite palettes that I love to reach for. If you want something that is easy to blend, then I really would recommend not looking any further than this product. No matter what I pair with this Cover FX Cream Contour Palette, it looks incredible every single time.

I find that no matter how I wear this foundation, it lasts beautifully on the skin and it will be in place all day long. I have thrown every single product combination that I have at this Cover FX palette and I find that this works really well with it. I normally apply my makeup at around 7am in a morning and this will still be in place at 10pm the same evening and it will look very nice. I have a combination to oily complexion and I find that this product works beautifully with it and doesn’t make me overly oily, even in my problem areas, this does a great job at controlling that.

I am going to round this post up here, because I could speak about this palette all day long. Since I bought this I have been absolutely obsessed with it and I know that it is going to be part of my makeup routine for a very long time. The shade range is incredible, it is blendable, creamy and it looks beautiful on the skin. I will leave a link to this product down below in case you want to check it out for yourself. Also, make sure to leave me a comment and let me know if you have tried this product and what you thought about it.
