My Favourite Mascaras

I wanted to do a post, dedicated to all of my favourite mascaras. For the longest time, even though I was obsessed with makeup, I wasn’t really bothered about mascara. As long as it made my lashes look black, I wasn’t bothered about anything else. I usually would just reach for anything that was the cheapest in Boots. It wasn’t until I actually started to try out some more mascaras and read a little bit more about them on other blogs, I realised that I really wanted to try out some more. I will admit though, I still have quite a few lefts on my wishlist to try out, so keep your eye out for some new reviews coming up.

It wasn’t until I actually started to try out some different mascaras that I realised that there was much more to them than just making my lash hairs black. Depending on the wand and the formula of the mascara, it really does make a difference to how your eyelashes look. Mascara is just one of them products that I really cannot be without. If I don’t put makeup on, even on the days where I aren’t wearing much makeup, I feel like I can’t even see my eyes.  Anyway, without any further rambling, because we all know how I like to accidentally make my posts incredibly long, here are my favourite mascaras…
I know that people are probably sick of seeing and hearing about this mascara by now, but I am still in love with it. I hadn’t really heard of this mascara before, then when I started blogging, I would see this all over the place, so naturally, I wanted to try it out. To be honest, I was never really interested in the product itself to use, I just wanted the packaging because I thought it would look really pretty in my flat lay photography of beauty products. I then started to use it and I really fell for it, so much so that I have to buy a new one of these pretty much every other month.

One of my favourite things about this mascara is how it combs through my lash hairs. The wand on this is curved, so it reaches to every single lash hair and because it is a firm comb and not a fluffy wand, it gets into the root of each lash hair and coats from root to tip. I also feel like this really lifts my lashes because it can get so close to the root. I don’t have the waterproof version of this mascara, but I have worn this out in the pouring rain and cried wearing this and it always stays put. I reach for this pretty much every single day because it is a great and reliable everyday mascara.

I had my eye on this mascara for such a long time and that is just because of the stunning packaging. I have always wanted to try out a Lancôme mascara and that is mainly because they are like such cult classic mascaras to try out. Then, they came out with this stunning little thing and I knew that I had to try it for myself. I hadn’t really seen much online about it, but it spiked my interest just because of the strange but stunning packaging. So, one day as I was wondering through Boots and past the Lancôme stand, I saw this, and it just happened to slip into my basket.

When I first got this home, and pulled the wand out from the tube I was a little unsure about whether I was going to like this or not. I think just because it was so different than anything that I had used before, I was put off. I will admit that the first few times that I used it, I wasn’t that keen on it, mainly because I kept on making a mess. It wasn’t until I perfected using it, that I fell in love with this product. The wand head itself is quite small, which helps to get a really precise application. This lengthens my lashes and really lifts them. This is just a great all-rounder mascara and I actually find the wand really easy to use now that I have conquered the skill of using it.

I could not possibly do this post without mentioning quite possibly the most talked about mascara here on my blog and that is the YSL Shocking Mascara. I first bought this years ago and the only reason why I bought this at the time was because I was going through a little bit of a YSL Beauty phase and it looked so stunning when I was stood at the counter. At the time, I don’t even think that I looked into any reviews about this, I just wanted it because the sample one in the store, looked like it would be something that I loved. So, I bought it and now I have been loving it ever since.

Now I know that I don’t have to mention this too much because I have been harping on about this for years, but that is because I love it that much. This mascara to me, is one of them products that just has the whole package and it does everything that I want a mascara to do. This lengthens, lifts, curls and is absolutely jet black. When you apply this, it sets to the lashes like a hard shell and lasts all day long. I have turned so many people onto using this mascara over the years because I really do think that it is one of the best mascaras that I have ever used. I have my eye on the YSL Baby Doll Mascara for my next one to try!

L’Oréal Paradise Mascara
From the moment that this was first released and starting to get splashed all over social media and blogs, I knew I had to try it out. People were branding this as the world’s best drugstore mascara and if anything has an accolade that high, then I need to try it out and put it to the test myself. But, because of how much this mascara was hyped up to start with, for months I found it near on impossible to get my hands on. I think it was probably 4 months after the initial release before I managed to try it out. But, I am so glad that I got my hands on it in the end, this is by far one of my most reached for mascaras on an everyday basis.

If you have tried out this L’Oréal mascara, you will know that it is really amazing. I would say that this mascara is super similar to the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, which has been one of my go to mascaras for many years. I think the only reason why I am mentioning this L’Oréal mascara over the Too Faced is because of the price. They are more or less a carbon copy of each other, so why wouldn’t you go for the cheaper one of the two. This is a great mascara for really thickening and making your lashes look really volumized. I like to reach for this when I am having a no false eyelash day to make my natural lashes look thicker.

Benefit They’re Real Mascara
I never actually set out to try this mascara out. I first tried this because it was included in a Benefit gift that my dad got me for Christmas last year. All I was really bothered about to start with was the blushers and bronzers in the gift, so this got thrown in my drawer and forgotten about. It wasn’t until one day when I was playing out with new makeup that I decided to reach for this and give it a try for the first time. From the moment that I used this mascara out, I knew it was going to be a firm favourite of mine and I think that I am now on my fourth one of this since I first tried it out, which just shows how much I really love it.

What I love about this mascara in particular, is how much it really does lift and hold my lash hairs. As normal when I use this product, I give my lashes a good curl to start with, and it just seems to hold them really well. It makes my eyelash hairs look much longer than they really are and that is because of how much it lifts each hair, all the way from the root. I have always heard really good things about all Benefit products, but I was only really bothered about their cheek and brow products, but I wish I had tried this out sooner. Using and loving this has made me really want to try out the Roller Lash!

So, there you have it, my all-time favourite mascaras. I feel like mascara is something that can really transform your face and I cannot go a single day without wearing it. If you want to see my full review of anything that I have mentioned, just click the name of the item above to be taken to that page.
