My Favourite Bronzing Powders

For today’s blog post, I wanted to share with you guys some of my favourite bronzers. I have made no secret here on my blog over the years about how much I love bronzer. I think that I can quite confidently say that bronzer is actually my favourite makeup item, I use it every single day without fail. I am sure that if you have followed my blog for some time already, you will have seen countless bronzer reviews because whenever a new one comes out, I have to buy it and try it out for myself. So, I thought that I would do a favourites blog post, to round them all up and let you guys know what I think is the best of the best of my ever-growing collection!

I will say right now that most of the bronzers that I am going to mention are high-end products. To me, I find that bronzers can be quite hit and miss when it comes to the quality and I have found that lower price bronzers can usually be quite poor with crappy colour pay off. I know that probably isn’t the case for all drugstore bronzers out there, but the ones I have tried just haven’t been that great. I love that many bronzers that I think I am going to have to split this between two posts, so I don’t bore you all to tears too much, but here is instalment one of my favourite bronzers…

I wanted to start with this one and get all of the hatred out of the way early on in the post. I know that some people seem to lose their mind whenever I mention anything Tom Ford. I know that Tom Ford is an incredibly expensive makeup brand, when you think of this brand it is right up there with the likes of La Mer. The only reason why I continue to mention and use Tom Ford products even though people are strongly against it, is that the quality is incredible. I would not continue to buy Tom Ford, if I didn’t think that it was really worth the money!

The first reason why I love this bronzer is because of the shade of it. It is a light tone bronzer, which makes it look nice and natural on the skin. This is a lovely bronzer that glides on the skin really beautifully and softly. There is a small amount of shimmer running through the bronzer, which I like, and I feel like it makes my skin look lovely and glowing. This paired with the Tom Ford bronzer brush is just perfection. If I am wanting a light but defined look where my skin looks nothing but healthy, this is the bronzer that I find myself reaching for.

I know that I have mentioned this bronzer so many times here on my blog, but I really do feel like it needs to be mentioned again. Before I bought this bronzer, I had never tried anything by Too Faced before. It was a brand that I had heard a lot about and I had seen a lot about it online, but it had never really appealed too much to me before. It wasn’t until I saw Casey Holmes using this in one of her makeup tutorials and it looked out of this world that I decided that I needed to try it out for myself. When I saw that this was on the Debenhams website, I quickly put it in my basket and bought it for myself!

What is amazing about this bronzer is the shade of it. Many bronzers for me are too light and they barely show up on my skin. This one is just a fraction deeper than my natural skin tone and it is perfect for bronzing and adding more dimension back into my face. If I am a little fairer, I can just go in with the lighter half, but for everyday use, I just swirl the two colours together. I find myself reaching for this all of the time because I can honestly say that it is probably my most used bronzer in my collection.

I am pretty sure that this was the first high end bronzer that I ever bought, and it was the first Makeup Forever product that I had tried in a very long time. This came from another YouTuber recommendation, but this time around it was Jaclyn Hill. For a spell, she used this all of the time and I couldn’t deny that it looked incredible on her skin, so it went onto my wishlist and I had to treat myself to it. Luckily for me, just as I went to treat myself to this Debenhams started selling Makeup Forever, which saved me a fortune in shipping and import charges from the UK.

The main thing that I love about this bronzer that keeps me buying it time after time is how lovely and blendable it is on the skin. I have been known to go in quite heavy with the bronzer, but because of how finely milled and creamy this bronzer is, it applies like a dream and you can get a really pretty and natural look. This is a great bronzer for when I am that bit more tanned because the undertones of it are pure perfection and help to compliment my natural colouring. Since buying this, I have tried out hell of a lot more Makeup Forever items because this was amazing.

I have been living and breathing for Nars makeup products at the moment. I think they may even be close to overtaking Charlotte Tilbury as my favourite makeup brand of all time. As some of you will know from my other posts, I am currently loving a whole array of Nars products and this Laguna Bronzer is one of those products. I have seen this bronzer all over the internet for so many years and even though I wanted to check it out for myself, I tend to stay away from products that have been really hyped up. But, I went for it and bought it and it is safe to say that I am loving it.

This bronzer just makes my skin look so incredibly healthy. It is the perfect colour for my skin and I am in love with it. I will either use this with my big ass Tom FordBronzer brush for all over my face and down my neck, or I will use it to contour with my Nars Ita brush. No matter what way I use this Nars LagunaBronzer, I find that it always looks really perfecting on the skin. I find myself reaching for this all of the time and I think it even makes a really nice transition shade on the eyes. This is another absolute knock-out Nars product that I am obsessing over!

From the moment I saw this bronzer I wanted to get my hands on it. Over the last couple of years, I have tried out a couple of different items by Marc Jacobs and they have all performed really well, so I thought that I would give one of their bronzers a try. Little did I know that at the time when I first wanted to try this out for myself, so would half of the world and it be out of stock more or less everywhere. The only places you can buy there here in the UK is Harrods and John Lewis and both of them were sold out for such a long time.

When I finally got my hands on this, I was completely in love with it. It is the creaminess of this bronzer which is simply stunning, and it is that what makes me reach for it time and time again. No matter how heavy I go in with this bronzer, it looks so stunning on the skin. If you put your finger into this bronzer and your swatch it onto the back of your hand it is such a buttery and creamy product. I love reaching for this and I think it always looks stunning on the skin. Every time I use this, I know that my makeup is going to look flawless all-day long.

Now, I wasn’t going to mention this bronzer, but the whole time I have been writing this, I felt bad for not including it. I am sure that you will have heard about this bronzer before, I think most of the world has at least heard of this product. This is such a cult classic product by Benefit and I am truly obsessed with it. I first bought this a couple of years back and I think that it is one of the best bronzers that I have ever used. I think that this may be the cheapest bronzer that I am going to include in this favourites post, so if you are looking for something on the cheaper side, this may be the one for you.

What is sheer perfection about this bronzer is the shade of it. This is a cool toned bronzer, which really sets it apart from everything else that I have mentioned in this post. I put off from buying this for a really long time because I thought it would be too light for my skin, in the end, curiosity got the better of me and I ended up going out and buying it anyway. This is the perfect bronzer if you want to add some natural looking dimension into the face without looking like you have fallen into a pot of bronzer. I am obsessed with it!

The last bronzer that I wanted to mention is the MAC Give Me Sun. The reason why I thought I would mention this last is because I find that it always gets quite mixed reviews. I think that this is a stunning bronzer, and I have loved it for many years. Other people tend to hate the shade of this bronzer, but I really do think that it depends on your skin tone and how tanned you are. Now, I have quite an olive complexion and all I have to do is look at the sun and I seem to catch a really deep tan. For me, this is the perfect shade of bronzer.

For me, I think that this bronzer is just such a great and effortless product to reach for. I always reach for this MAC Give Me Sun when I am going for a minimal makeup look. I put on my base makeup and then I go in with this on a nice big fluffy brush and it really helps to diffuse the product and give me a nice overall glow. This is quite an orange tone bronzer, but I think that it just really works when it is used sparingly. I have repurchased this several times and I think that just shows how much I really rate the product if I have bought it a couple of times!

I know that you probably thought that one person couldn’t ramble on about bronzers for as long as I have done, but I have, and I loved every minute of writing about them. As normal with all of my blog posts, I will leave a link to everything mentioned down below in case you want to check it out. If you want to see my full review of anything, just click the name of the item above to be taken to that page. Make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know what some of your favourite bronzers are!

  3. I must admit that I am much more of a blush person than a bronzing person, however, that doesn't mean I don't like a good bronzer or contour! I use the Benfit Hoola one everyday without fail, and this is actually a good reminder for me to switch things up a bit. Too Faced definitely ranks near the top for bronzers too. Their chocolate soleil one is one of my favorites, however, I haven't tried their sweetheart one. I'll have to pick it up next time I'm in Sephora. Okay, so I've heard mixed reviews on the Marc Jacobs one only because some people say the formula is different in the classic one that you show and the limited edition one in the white packaging! Do you know if this is true? Either way, I really want to pick one up :)

    1. The formula is meant to be a little different, but I know that most people that love the one in the white packaging also love this one!
