MAC Fix + Review

I cannot believe that it is 2018 and I am sat at my desk writing a blog post about the MAC Fix +. This is a product that I used to use many years ago when I first really fell for MAC makeup. I can remember one Christmas my dad let me do a little trolley dash around MAC as my present as this is one of the items that I picked up. I can remember at the time I really loved using this and it made my makeup look so stunning, for some reason I never repurchased another. I am guessing that the only reason I didn’t repurchase this is because I was just far too lazy to go and get one. But, as I was strolling around the MAC store the other month I saw this sitting on the shelf and I decided to pick one up and give it another try.

I have mentioned in a couple of posts over the last few months that my skin has recently done a complete flip and I am now dry where I used to be oily. God knows what has happened, but my skin really has completely changed. Because of that, I am now having to push aside my mattifying products and bust out some hydrating ones to try and help hydrate my dry skin. I thought that this MAC Fix + might be the perfect addition to try and bring some life back into my very dry skin.

Since I have started using this, I have to say that I have seen the biggest difference in my skin and how my makeup looks. For some extra hydration, I may apply this after my primer and before I go in with my foundation, but the main time when I reach for this is once I have finished with my makeup. What I like to do is wait until my makeup is 100% done and then I just add a light spritz of this all over the face. As I apply this to the face it feels lovely and refreshing and soaks into the skin within seconds, which is exactly what I want from a setting spray.

The pump on this MAC Fix + spray is lovely and even. I find the product is really evenly dispersed all over the face and I never get areas where too much product has applied, because this comes out in a lovely and fine mist. I also find that just three pumps of this product applies the perfect amount of product to my face and because of how finely the liquid comes out of the pump, I can see this one bottle lasting for a very long time.

One of my favourite things about this powder is how flawless it makes my makeup look. I cannot say that this elongates how long my makeup is on for, because to be honesty, I never have an issue with how long my makeup lasts for. But, what this does is help my liquid and powder products to blend together and look really perfected on the skin. I also like to use this in an evening when I have had my makeup on all day long and it just seems to give it a lift and look much fresher.

I don’t really think that there is much more that I can say about this product other than that I have been really loving it recently. I love how my skin looks when I use this, and it makes my dry skin much more comfortable. I feel like this is a product that has just been forgotten by everybody because of all the new setting sprays that have been released recently, but I adore this, and I know that I am going to continue to us this.

If anybody wants to check this out, I will leave a link to where you can find it down below if you are interested. Make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know what some of your favourite setting sprays are and I will have to check them out for myself!

  3. Never actually tried this although it sounds like a great setting spray. I'm currently using the Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist (I think that's what it's called!) with rose and green tea. It's also a nice one for dry skin as it adds hydration. x

  7. I actually don't enjoy Mac fix + as a setting spray but rather for its other uses. I love spraying my beauty blender with it to dampen it, I love spritzing my foundation brush with it or using it as a pigmentation booster. For setting my face I definitely have other setting sprays I prefer.
