My March Favourites

I don’t know why but over the past couple of months, my blog just seems to be so busy. I have mentioned before, that since New Year’s, I cut down the number of posts I did to just 2 or 3 per week, whereas before I was posting every other day without fail. It was just too much work and even though I loved doing it, that long with my full-time job, it just wasn’t manageable. But, since cutting down the number of posts I’ve done, for some reason I seem to be busier than ever. I’m not going to moan about it though, getting busier is obviously a great thing, it is just very unexpected. Anyway, it is time to talk about my March monthly favourites. I cannot believe that we are already in April, it will be Christmas again before we even know it!

I have been trying to be a good girl when it comes to spending money. I have still been treating myself here and there, but nothing like I used to do. I have so much planned this year so I need to try and put some money to one side. Not to mention that this time last month I was in Paris and I spent far too much money when I should have been saving like a good little lamb, let me just say that I got a little over excited in the Chanel store. Anyway, without any more rambling because I can already tell this is going to turn into a long one, here are my March favourites…

My skin at the minute is being a massive bitch. Normally I have quite normal skin that can get a little dry on my forehead and a little oily around my nose, it has always been that way and I am pretty ok with that. I just think that my skin could be hell of a lot worse. For the amount of makeup that I wear, I should suffer with spots, but luckily that has never been a concern of mine. At the minute though my skin seems to have took a turn and decided to be incredibly oily, which is nothing but a pain in my ass because most of the foundations that I have are for normal complexion and can make me look very oily.

So, to try and overcome that and make my skin look somewhat normal underneath my foundation I have been trying out this Cover FX Matte Primer and so far, I have been loving it. I usually wear the Benefit Porefessional Primer and as much as I do enjoy using that primer, it doesn’t seem to control my oils in the same way that this Cover FX Matte Primer does. This one seems to keep my oils at a minimal for a long period of time. Don’t get me wrong, I do still need to top up with powder throughout the day, but it is still hell of a lot better compared to what it has been over the past couple of months.

I am a huge fan of bronzer, so you should have known that I was going to have to pick this bronzer up. This really seemed to take off last year and I thought I heard just about everybody talking about it, which is what tempted me into buying it. I hadn’t really tried much from Marc Jacobs beauty before so I didn’t really know what to expect. For such a long time their Remarcable Foundation was my go to because it was the best full coverage foundation that I had ever used, so I knew that they did really good quality makeup. In the end, when I was on the Harrods website placing an order, I decided to slip this into my basket.

I think that thing about this Marc Jacobs bronzer that has made me fall head over heels with it is the shade. It is very rare that I find a bronzer that I genuinely love through and through. Normally if I love the shade of a bronzer, I’m not a fan of the texture or if the blends in like a dream, I usually have an issue with the shade. But, with this Marc Jacobs bronzer, I am obsessed with every single aspect. The way this looks on the skin is just incredible and each and every time I reach for this I know that my bronzer is going to look so incredibly smooth and soft. I have found myself reaching for this pretty much every single day since I bought it and this paired with my Tom Ford Bronzer Brush it is like a match made in heaven.

Don’t hate me for this being the second bronzer that I am mentioning in my March Favourites. This month has been filled with them kind of days when you just cannot be bothered and this is one of my reliable products that I reach for when I am having one of them days. I feel like this MAC Give Me Sun, is one of them products that people either love (like me), or they categorically hate it. It is the shade of it that I think throws many people. For tanned skin such as mine, this just seems to compliment my complexion and make me look really healthy, if you are on the fairer end of the spectrum then I can imagine this looking quite orange on your skin tone, like I said, a real chalk and cheese kind of products.

I have owned this bronzer for years and to me it is just a great and reliable product. On a morning where I don’t have any time to get ready, I will throw my MAC Full Coverage foundation on with a touch of the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer and I will then warm up and add dimension with this bronzer. The whole combination together just looks like I have made an effort, when in actual fact I haven’t. I have never had an issue with this bronzer and I find that every time I reach for it my makeup looks really stunning. If you haven’t tried this Give Me Sun, I would recommend you going into a MAC store and trying it out for yourself to see if it will work for you!

I am sure that you have heard me mention this Hourglass Arch Brow Pencil so many times here on my blog. I took a risk when I bought this product, I had never heard anybody mention it before when I bought it. One day I went onto Snapchat and just happened to watch Rosie Huntington-Whitley’s story and she used this and her brows looked phenomenal, so I knew I had to try it. At the time when I bought this, it was actually the first thing that I had tried by Hourglass. Needless to say, that it has been a very expensive love story ever since… we all know my true love for their Vanish Stick Foundation.

This is by a country mile the creamiest eyebrow pencil that I have ever used. I have this in the shade Dark Brunette and it matches my hair so perfectly. There isn’t a single thing that I would change about this product. I have used this for well over a year now and I am simply obsessed with it. This just glides so softly through the brows hair and makes my brows look thick and full, but natural all at the same time. I will say that the odd time that I have opened this up and taken the cap off that the product has fallen out in a stick, but I think that is down to my very hand handed manor!

I am obsessed with this foundation. Since I bought it in the middle of 2017, it has been one of them products that I just always seem to go back to. I stop using this while I am trying out something new, then I open up my foundation drawer and see the little TF embossed on the top and I get so excited to give it another go. I put off buying this foundation to start with for such a long time, I think it is because so many people online said it as a medium coverage foundation and I am normally full coverage or nothing. But, I just had to finally get my hands on this and try it out for myself. I am so bloody did that I did, if I want a good quality foundation that I know is going to last well all day, this is the product that I reach for.

I would agree with the statement that this is a medium coverage foundation, but it really doesn’t bother me. When I go to work, this is a great foundation to have on. I wear makeup more or less every single day without fail, so using a foundation that is a little lighter is actually a nice change. Not to mention that I still pile on the concealer and powder, so it still looks full coverage on the skin. Plus, you can build this up to get a more intense coverage. I think my skin looks so beautiful when I use this foundation, it gives a natural finish, which I find pretty even with my oilier than normal skin at the moment.

Yet again, another product that probably doesn’t need an introduction here on my blog. I have used this concealer for years now, probably going on for the 4-year mark. I am sure that at some point you will have seen this concealer and heard about it, but I am still just as obsessed with it. If you have visited my blog before, you will know that I love everything that is Nars and that goes for this concealer too. Nars could literally sneeze into a tissue and I would buy it and no doubt love it, in my eyes Nars can do no wrong. So, like I said, no surprise that I love this concealer and I have repurchased it more than any other concealer in my vast makeup collection.

What I love about this concealer is that the coverage is so incredible. It is a medium to full coverage, but it still looks nice and natural on the skin. Don’t get me wrong, the coverage on this concealer isn’t within the realms of Tarte Shape Tape, but it is still enough to cover all of my darkness with minimal effort. I use the shade Custard which I think is just great for my Medium skin tone. I am sure that most people have heard of this but I think that everybody should go and give this a swatch and just see how perfectly this works. Not to mention that this paired with the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation is just a match made in heaven!

There you have it. I know that there aren’t very many products mentioned in this post compared to some of my other favourites posts, but I still managed to ramble on forever and a day. Make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know about some of the products that you were loving in March. I will also link to everything that I have mentioned down below in case you want to check any of them out.

  1. I must say I'm not a massive fan of brow pencils that are too creamy. That's why I love the Benefit Goof Proof one, it's not too creamy, but still glides on really well.

Give Me Sun used to be all the rage in the blogging/youtube world back in the days! I feel like it's quite orange toned, though? Not sure if I can get away with it.

I've read about that Cover FX primer on your blog before, I think, and Ive put it on my shopping list for when I'm in the UK next! You make it sound like some miracle product, I can't wait to try it out! Also, their new power play foundation is supposed to be good for oily skin types, I might try that one out as well ;-)
