My February Favourites!

How the hell are we already in March. This year is just flying by so quickly, it seems like only two minutes since I was sat here at my desk writing my New Year’s Eve post. I feel like the older that I get, the quicker the years seem to be whizzing by, I used to think that it was a good thing, but I don’t really want to get any older than 23, I feel like that is an actual grown up age. Not to mention that every month that flies by means that we are getting closer to my sister’s hen party and I am so nervous because I just want everything to go really well and I am just waiting for something to crop up and ruin everything for me. Knowing my luck, somebody is going to drop out and I’m going to be out of pocket!

Anyway, my February was just super busy. I told you all a while ago that my grandparents health isn’t too good at the moment. So, when I’m not working or blogging, all of my time is spent with my grandparents and doing anything that I can do to try and help them out in some way. I am also on good track with my spending ban. I have bought a couple things here and there, but nothing in the way that I used to, at this rate I can see myself being in my own house by Christmas, well that is the hope anyway. Without further rambling, here are my February favourite beauty products…

I cringe every time I mention this foundation here on my blog because I can only imagine how sick people must be of me mentioning this foundation. I can hold my hands up and quite confidently say that this is without a shadow of a doubt my all-time favourite foundation. My love affair with this foundation has been going on for at least 2 years now and I cannot see any sign of it fading away. I always have to repurchase this foundation and I think that just shows how much I really like something, over the last 2 years I must have spent a fortune restocking my endless supply of this Nars Sheer Glow Foundation!

If you have read my review on this foundation, you will know that initially I didn’t think this foundation would work for me. I have oily skin, so usually foundations with the words ‘glow’ or ‘luminous’ in the title, they just tend not work very well on my skin type. But I was seeing this foundation all over the internet and it always looked so stunning on people, so I decided just to bite the bullet and go for it. From the first moment that I tried it, I was in love with it. Since then, I used it pretty much every day for a couple months because I was just hooked on it. I have put everybody on this foundation because I honestly think it is be the best foundation that I have ever used!

I have tried so much to get away from this concealer, but I just haven’t found anything that matches up to this. I am pretty sure that everybody who loves beauty, will have heard of this concealer of the past couple of years. When it was first released, I was adamant that I wasn’t going to buy it because it was only available in the US or on the QVC website here in the UK, and it was an arm and a leg to buy. I didn’t want to fall in love with something that was hard to get my hands on and that was expensive for a concealer.

Of course, I ended up caving and buying it in the end. I use this concealer to highlight my face and conceal the darkness underneath my eyes. This is a super creamy concealer, which makes it nice and blendable, especially when I use my Beauty Blender. It is really high coverage, just the smallest amount of this Tarte Shape Tape concealer goes the longest way, I really do apply it with a light hand or I can go in too heavy. I never experience creasing with this concealer and it seems to last really well all-day long. Now that I am in love with this, I just have to buy it when the Tarte website has free shipping weekends to try and get it a little cheaper!

I have had this Chanel Cream bronzer in my drawer for years and it is one of them products that I pick back up and I fall back in love with it all over again. And before anybody tells me off, I know that it isn’t hygienic to keep a product for that long, but I ain’t throwing something out that was this expensive when it still works perfectly fine. If I am wanting a really natural and glowing looking makeup look, then this is the product that I reach for. When I first bought this bronzer, I can remember that I wasn’t entirely in love with it, to me is just wasn’t deep enough for my tanned skin-tone. But, after persevering with it and being determined to get my money’s worth out of it, I completely fell for it.

This is just the perfect product for warming up your complexion and making you look very naturally sun-kissed and that is what I emphasise with this product, it is incredibly natural looking. When I do a quick makeup look, this is ideal for just adding a glow to the skin. I will usually just take my Beauty Blender straight into this cream and then apply it to all of the high points of my face. I also try not to be too careful with it because I don’t want it to look like a precise contour, I want to look like I have simply been sat in the sun for a while, even though it is February and as cold as hell.

I have made no secret that here on my blog, that I am completely obsessed with this Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Primer. Same as many things that I end up falling in love with here on my blog, I wasn’t entirely sold on this when I first got it. I think it was just because I was so used to using a mattifying or smoothing primer, and this Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow primer, doesn’t so any of that. This primer does exactly as you would imagine from the name, it is an incredibly pretty glowing primer. I even love this primer that much that I am on my third bottle within a year!

What I really love about this Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Primer is just how healthy it makes my skin look. You only need the tiniest amount of this primer and it just seems to really lift and brighten your complexion. Even if I am having a day without makeup, I like to apply a touch of this over my moisturiser just to help balance out my skin and make me look a little put together. When I do wear this underneath my foundation I find that it just helps to make me face look a little flat with lots of matte products, it gives dimension and depth to the face and I adore it.

I first bought this powder around a year ago, and I have been in love with it ever since. I have never made any secret here on my blog, that I get quite oily skin. Most of my makeup can hold up quite well throughout the day, but the area around my nose does need touching up every now and again. For years I used the Chanel Vitalumiere Powder and even though I did like that powder, I felt like I wanted to mix it up a little and upgrade, and that is why I went ahead and bought this Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Finish Powder. I am even thinking about getting the lighter shade to set the concealer under my eye with because I imagine that it would work perfectly.

The incredible thing about this powder is just how finely milled the powder is. When I pick some of this up on either my Real Techniques Setting Brush or the Morphe E34 and you apply it to your face, you can just feel how silky and smooth the powder feels. Within an instant of blotting and applying some of this powder when I am out and about my makeup goes from looking a little drab, to really flawless and pretty. It helps to blur out my pores and gets shut of my absolutely awful shiny, wet dog looking nose!

I wish that it didn’t take me so long to finally try this bronzer out. I don’t know what it was that stopped me from buying this, even though I have literally had my eye on this for the longest time. I think it was just probably the fact that it was so popular and hyped up, when a product is that popular, I tend to stay away from it because I feel that it can never live up to the incredibly high expectations that I have in my mind. In the end, I decided just to go for it and try it out and I haven’t looked back since. I knew that this would work for me before I even had my hands on it because it seemed to work for just about everybody else in the world that had tried it, and I wasn’t wrong!

I have tried hell of a lot of bronzers over the years and it is incredibly rare that I actually fall in love with one and continue to use it. What seems to set this bronzer apart from anything else that I have used is just how blendable and easy it is to use. I have a heavy hand when it comes to applying my bronzer, and with this Nars Laguna Bronzer, it never seems to look too much. Even though it is a lovely deep colour, it has the correct tones to it so that it never looks orange or like you have just gone in far too heavy with the bronzer. Recently I have been going in with this Nars Laguna Bronzer and then lightly layering the Too Faced Sweetheart bronzer over the top and it looks stunning!

For months now, I have been going for the whole feathered brow kind of look and this Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil just makes that look so easy to achieve. Before I bought this pencil, I would use the Anastasia Brow Pomade with an angled brush and I would try to draw in the individual hairs and even though they looked really good, it was a hard look to achieve just with my Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade. I had my eye on this brow pencil since it was first released, then one night when I was walking through Boots, I decided that it was finally time to just go ahead and treat myself, and I am so glad that I did because I am hooked with this pencil.

What is so amazing about this Benefit Brow Pencil is how easy it glides on and the amount of pigment in the product. This in shape and size is a very similar pencil to the Anastasia Brow Wiz, but the difference is that this one is much creamier and easier to use, in my opinion. This is the first brow product that I have tried my Benefit and it has seriously spurred me on to go ahead and try a few more items. I even committed to this and went ahead and bought a couple more shades so that I could get really full and natural looking brows. If you haven’t tried this out yet, I would highly recommend giving it a go!

I know that this is an incredibly expensive palette to buy, but I am so in love with it. I feel like whenever I upload a review or mention anything that is Tom Ford, I get judged in the comments section. I know that all of Tom Ford beauty products are out of this world expensive, but I can honestly say that everything that I have tried so far, lives up to the high price tag and that is what I think of this palette as well. This Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Palette was £56 which I actually think is pretty reasonable for something that is Tom Ford, especially considering that I paid £82 for the Tom Ford Bronzer Brush.

I thought when I first got this palette that I would be obsessed with the contouring shade and neglect the illuminating cream, but I actually really like the two. The cream contour shade is just perfection, it compliments my skin tone and genuinely goes look like a contouring shade. I think that the undertones are stunning and really do give the illusion of a naturally cast shadow. Then for the illuminator, it is just so effortless and pretty. I will apply a touch to the high points of my face if I am just doing a light makeup. If I want a highlighter that is a little more intense, I will apply this and then go in with something like the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow and intensify it ever so slightly.

The last thing that I want to mention is this Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette. I actually hadn’t used this palette for quite a while when I decided to have a rummage in my drawers and dig it back out. I have been cheating on this with new Charlotte Tilbury Instant Eye Palette for the past few months, but I am back on with this and I am hooked on it. There is just something about the shades in it that really speak out to me. There isn’t one shade in this palette that I haven’t used at some point, I am even pretty sure to hitting pan on a couple of the shades which really shows how much I have been loving it.

I just feel like you can create so many different eyes look with this one palette. If I am going travelling or just away for the night, this is the palette that I like to pack and take with me. All of the shades in this palette are super blendable and take next to no effort to get them to look flawless and seamless with other colours on the eyes. I am even planning on buying another one of these palettes so that when I do hit pan on my favourite colours, I have another palette to fall back on. If you are looking for a good palette to buy that has a lot of wearable and deep/warm shades, then I highly recommend this Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette.

There you have it, all of the makeup products that I loved through February. I have been trying to stick to some of the same products this month rather than changing up my foundation and base products too much because I don’t want to undo the work that my skincare has been doing. Hell, of a lot of these items I know that you will have seen me mention them all time and time again, but I think that just shows how much I really love them. As normal with all posts here on my blog, I will leave a link to all of the items down below in case you want to check them out. Make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know what you have been loving in February.

  8. I love the benefit brow pencils myself, they are such good quality and so easy to use.
I've always wanted to try the Charlotte Tilbury setting powders. Really can't justify the price though, since my holy grail powder is one from Rimmel! ;-)
