My 2018 New Years Resolutions!

I am not really the kind of person that will set myself resolutions when a new year comes around. The main reason why I tend not to set them for myself is because I know that by a couple months into the new year, I will have more or less completely forgot about them and be back to my old ways. But, this year I have so much on, and so much that I want to achieve, so I thought that I would put pen to paper and write them down and try and stick to them. I love to set myself goals and I set myself goals for more or less everything, but when it comes to new year’s resolutions, I tend to aim a little too high and set myself up for failure, such as get down to a size two, buy a 6-bedroom house and be earning 1 million pounds a month. Never going to happen, so I just stop trying.
But, like I said, I have so much on this year and I feel like I have been trying over the past year to get so much done, and I just haven’t gotten anywhere with anything. So, this year I am going to set some clear goals, but some that are actually achievable. Then this time next year, I can look back and see where I have gotten with them.  Hopefully I am going to smash them all… ever the optimist. Anyway, here are my new year’s resolutions for 2018…

Get A House
Some of you may already know about my struggle to get a house last year. We went the whole way through the process, only for the surveyor to come back to us and warn us off from buying the house. It was so disheartening and it took me a while before I started looking again. Rushing into buying that house it just made me realise that it is going to take time. I am going to keep looking for the perfect house, then when I find it, I am going to just go for it and fingers crossed, I should be in my own house by Christmas!
Strict Workout Routine
I always eat well and I make sure that I go to the gym more times a week than I don’t. But, this year I really want to regiment my workouts and up my fitness game in general. I want to stick to certain regimes on certain days and really see some differences. I am pretty much at my target weight, I just want to tone up and define my shape a little more. Ideally, I would love to have a personal trainer, it is just the time it takes.
Dedicate More Time to My Blog
Over the past year, I have had so much on my plate, that it has gotten pretty hard to dedicate the time I would like to my blog. When I first started my blog, I think I was a little too obsessed with my blog and it took over my life. In 2017, I took a step and tried to allow more time to myself, but by queuing posts and deleting my social media channels, I felt a little disconnected from my blog and what was going on. My aim this year, is to try and find a healthy medium between the two, which for me will be quite difficult because I am an all or nothing kind of girl!
See More of My Grand Parents
In 2017, my grandparent’s health took a turn for the worse. I say grandparents, because all of their health seemed to take a nose dive in 2017. I won’t get too much into it but it was just a really hard year, especially after losing my grandad back in October. This year, I just want to spend as much time with them all as possible and make memories together. It has given me a kick up the arse to dedicate more time to them. When I was younger I really took them for granted, but as I have got older, I have realised how lucky I am to be 23 and still have most of my grandparents here with me. I just need to make a most of that time we have to together.
Go Back to Paris
Paris is one of my favourite places in the world. When I went there a couple years ago I just fell in love with the place. The atmosphere, the people, food, fashion and everything else in-between just made me fall for it. I think we are planning on booking a long weekend break there. This time though, I am going to ditch the high fashion, put on my trainers and just walk all over and get a real feel for the city and see every inch of it. I was a little put off by everything that has been kicking off there, but as my dad says, you cannot live your life in fear!
Get Another Puppy
This is something that really depends on if we get the new house or not. But, if we do, then one of the first things that I’m going to get is a new puppy. I really do think that dogs make a house a home. I have my lovely little Martha who is a Golden Retriever, but it kills me going to work in a morning and her being all alone. So, I want to get her a friend so she has some company. I have also always dreamed of living in a house with two dogs, so this is a big thing for me. Just got to convince my other half that it is a good idea, at the moment he things that one is enough!
Save Money Better
When it comes to saving money, I know that I am pretty good at it. I make sure that I put something into my savings every single month without fail, no matter how big or small. But, this year I really want to cut down on the treats and save a little more. I may not treat myself very often, but when my treats are a Chanel bag or a pair of Manolo Blahnik heels, the price can quite quickly stack up. This year, I want to try and reign that in a little and just see where I can get. My main priority this year is getting our dream home, so every penny that I save will go towards that!
There you have it.my new year’s resolutions for 2018. This time next year I want to do a recap post and let you know where I got with everything and fingers crossed, I will have achieved most of them, if not all of them. Make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know what some of your new year’s resolutions are… Wish me luck!

  1. I hope you tick all of them off your list in 2018! I have yet to fully finalise my goals - I'd want to get a move on but the main thing I want this year is massive improvements in my health! xx

  11. I am so with you on the gym regimes, the only way I manage it though is if I book myself into classes otherwise I'm useless! That's so annoying with house buying, it's such a difficult and lengthy process but fingers crossed for you this year! xx
