My New Years Makeup Look

With New Year’s Eve fast approaching, I think it is about time that we did a New Year’s Eve makeup look. People who know me know that I always go for neutral and timeless looks and that is the same even on New Year’s Eve. I may dabble with a touch of glitter but that is about as garish as I am planning to go!
This new year, we are planning on just having a couple of our friends round at ours. We tend to take it in turn over the years on who’s house we are going to be going to and this year it has fallen to us. It is never like a party as such, it is more like just a social gathering where we all drink too much and end up howling with laughter!
So, I want to be glam, with really perfected looking skin, but I don’t want it to be too over the top because at the end of the day, I’m not even going to be leaving the house. Anyway, here is my New Year’s Eve makeup look…

To start with I am going to moisturise my face, I am just going to opt for my Clinique Moisturiser, I love this stuff and it has been working really well recently at smoothing out my skin and combating the dry areas that I have been suffering with. I won’t use a primer, because with me not leaving the house I don’t really feel the need to use one. For foundation, I am going to use my old favourite the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation and just buff that in using my Morphe M439 brush. I just find that the two together give a really flawless finish.
Then for concealer I will go in with the Nars Soft Matte Concealer, I have been using this stuff for months now and I am loving it. It just makes the skin look so soft, it hides all imperfections and just really works well with my skin tone, it lasts all day long. Then when that concealer is blended in using my damp Beauty Blender I will go in with the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder to set everything and lock it into place.
For the eyes, I am wanting to go for something really natural and neutral. I want to channel Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. So, I am going to use my MAC Pro Palette because there are all of the shades that I need in there. First I am going to take Brule and wash that all over the eyelid, right up to the brow bone. Then I am going to take Soft Brown by MAC and take that into the crease on a really big fluffy brush. Next I am going to go in with MAC Brun on a smaller blending brush and again that into the crease to intensify the colour and make the socket deeper. Then to line the eyes I am going to use my Seventeen High Drama Eyeliner to create that classic Audrey kind of feline look.
To finish the eyes, I will go in with my Maybelline Sensational Mascara and apply a couple of coats. Then I will just add a couple of Ardell individual lashes to the outer corner of my eye to make it look more feline and lifted on the outer corner. Moving onto the brows I am going to use the Anastasia Brow Wiz and use small strokes to get a very natural but thick look. Then to lock the hairs into place and make them look a touch fuller I am going to use the Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows, which has been my go to for a very long time!
Then to finish the face I will go in with my Makeup Forever Pro Bronze Fusion and just put a light dusting all over the face to warm me up. Then to contour I am going to use my MAC Studio Fix Powder in the shade NW58, this is a nice warm contouring shade and it helps to really chiseled out my cheekbones. For a flush of colour it is going to be my old reliable, the Charlotte Tilbury Blush in Sex on Fire. Then to add a little shine to the face it is going to be my old favourite the MAC Mineralise Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle.
The final step in all of this is the lips. To start I am going to use the MAC Lip Pencil in Stone. I am going to line the lips and then fill them in using this colour. Then I am going to use a deep brown colour and my favourite at the moment has been the Charlotte Tilbury Birkin Brown, this is a really stunning warm brown shade!
That is going to be it for my makeup. It is simple and nothing too out there, but it is enough to say that I won’t be leaving the comfort of my own house. As normal I will leave links down below to everything. Leave me a comment down below and let me know what your plans are for NYE!

  1. I'm not doing much for NYE but if I was, I think I'd have near enough the same picks. I love Lash Sensational, CT is one of my favourite brands and don't get me started on how much I live by Nars haha! I love your photography xx

    1. Nars is just one of those brands that is so reliable and always amazing quality!

  2. This pretty much sounds like my everyday makeup, so I'm probably going to do something a bit more out there and add tons of glitter even though I'm also just staying in <3

    Lots of love,

    1. There is nothing wrong with adding a ton of glitter just to stay in!
