My Christmas Day Makeup Look

The other day I uploaded a post about my outfit that I was planning on wearing on Christmas day. I get so excited at this time of year and I get that giddy that I start to plan everything way in advance. I am sure that everybody probably thinks that I am a little bit crazy for planning everything in so much detail, so far in advance but it helps to sooth my OCD and stop me from losing control!
So, it will come as no surprise that I have already planned in fine detail the makeup look that I will be wearing. I tend to go for something where the skin is very perfected, with an odd pop here and there. When I know that I want my makeup to look good for something like Christmas because I know for a fact there will be some very snap happy family members taking far too many photos, I want my skin to look good and I don’t want things like flashback when we look back!
Anyway, here is my Blogmas Day 17 post all about the makeup look that I will be wearing…

1)       Perfect the base
Before anything else, I need to perfect the base. To start with, I will go in with lashings of the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream, because at this time of year I get really dry skin, then I will give that a couple of minutes to soak in. Then to prime the skin I will use the Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow Primer. That primer just adds a nice glow to the skin and that is really what I need at the moment. For foundation, I will be using my Estee Lauder Double Wear because it is really nice and comfortable on the skin and it is full coverage and makes the skin look nice and flawless. Then to highlight and conceal my favourite Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, I have been using this constantly since I first bought it, I love this stuff. Then when that is blended in with my Beauty Blender I will set everything using the RCMA No Colour Powder, which you guys know is my go to product!

2)       Define the eyes
Moving onto the eyes now. Firstly, I will go in with a nice warm brown shade from my MAC Pro Palette and just put that into the crease of the eye to define it. Then with the brunt red shade from the Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Palette and go back into the crease and intensify it a touch. Then I will take the gold glitter shade on my ring finger and press it over the lid. Then with the brown shade from the same palette I will take that just in the outer V of the eye and on the lower lash line. When the shadow is in place I will do my classic flick with my Seventeen High Drama Eyeliner and then give it a couple seconds to try. Then I will take my YSL Shocking Mascara and apply lashings to make my lashes really long and thick.
The last stage to defining my eyes will be to get some brows on my face. My favourite product for this recently has been my Hourglass Arch Brow Pencil, it took me a while to get used to this, but now I reach for it all of the time. Then when I have the shape that I want I will go in with my Anastasia Clear Brow Gel to lock it all into place..

3)       Add dimension to the face
Next it will be time to add some form and dimension back into the skin. When my foundation, concealer and all of that is on my face and set with powder it can make me look quite flat. So, to start with I will go in with the MAC Give Me Sun Bronzer just to warm my face up a little bit. I like to use my Tom Ford Bronzer Brush because it is really big and fat and applies it so pretty. Then to contour and add dimension I will use my Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Deep on my Charlotte Tilbury Cheek and Sculpt brush to really carve out the cheekbones. To highlight it will be the lighter shade from the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette. Finally, to add a slight flush of colour I am going to use the MAC Frankly Scarlett with a very light hand because of highly pigmented it is.

4)       Bring out the lips
For the lips, I will use my trusty Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk just to outline and fill in the lips. I find that my lipstick lasts so much longer when I do this because it gives the lipstick something to stick to. Then for my lip colour I am planning on wearing the Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Very Victoria, I love this because it is a great deep neutral shade for my lips. Finally, to top the lips off I am going to use my MAC Clear Lip Gloss just to add a sheen to my lips.
There you have it, my Christmas day makeup look using most of my favourite and everyday go to products. Like I said it is just a very perfected and classic look with a pop of glitter on my eyes and a nice glossy deep lip. Make sure to add me a comment down below and let me know what your go to makeup product are when you want to look nice and perfected!
