Too Faced Born This Way Foundation Review

This foundation has been on my wish list for such a long time, I just haven’t got around to buying I yet. I think I put off buying it because it wasn’t new to me, with it being out for a couple of years already, so other things came out that drew my attention. But, I was browsing the Debenhams website and saw it just sitting there, urging me to buy it, and within a couple of seconds it was in my basket and I was in the middle of checking out.
I had really high expectations when I got this Too Faced Born This Way Foundation because I have literally seen so many people using it on YouTube and mentioning it in blogs for such a long time and it seemed like it would be my ideal foundation. But, obviously when you buy blind online, off the back of what somebody else has said to you, it isn’t always the case that you will like it. Luckily though, this is a winner for me.
I bought this foundation in the shade Sand, and I have to admit that I think I hit the nail on the head the first time around with this foundation shade. There was so many to choose from, quite a lot within the same range that looked quite similar in colour, it was just the undertone that was different, it can be so hard to guess your shade right online, but I think I did quite a good job with this one. I have had some quite notable fails recently with buying foundation online, like the first Hourglass Vanish Foundation stick that I bought and it was the colour of a carrot when it was on my face. Thank the lord for lighter concealers that can brighten up and lighten it!

I have been trailing this foundation for a couple of weeks now and my love for it just keeps growing. I am hooked on it. I think this foundation won my heart the first time that I wore it. I was starting to get the flu. I got up in the morning, put my face on and dragged myself to work, thinking that I was just a little run down. As the day went on and I was pummelling with sweat and burning up, this foundation stayed put. If this could see me through that day without going patchy or rubbing off, then it can do anything.

Since then, I have tried this foundation with so many different products. I have used various moisturisers, primers, concealers and setting powders and no matter what I pair at this it stays put and looks flawless all day long. And that is the kind of foundation that I need when I am running all over and rushed off my ass, I don’t want to have to worry about having a makeup meltdown at some point throughout the day.
With this foundation, you get 30ml of product, which is a pretty standard amount to get in a liquid foundation. I am sure I paid £31 for this on the Debenhams website which is quite high because it is in the same kind of price range of one of my all-time favourites the Chanel Perfection Lumier, Foundation, but I really do think it warrants that high bracket price.
The coverage of this foundation is exactly what they advertise it at. A medium to full coverage with one nice light layer. I like to go in with a touch more product just where I need it, mainly on my cheeks where I have some hyper pigmentation, and with just a touch more product it covered everything completely. The good thing though about this foundation is that when you do build it up to a fuller coverage it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and it is still nice and lightweight.

At the minute my skin type is pretty much combination. I get a very dry forehead and oily around my nose so it is pretty hard to find something that works well for me. With this foundation, I haven’t had any issues at all. I will try and neutralise my skin using moisturisers, primers and powders and then this foundation lasts really well on my skin. It simply lasts on my skin and looks really smooth, pretty and flawless.
I really have put this Too Faced Born This Way Foundation through its paces recently and I am loving it. I have used this and nothing else for months now and I think that in itself just shows how much I think of this foundation. If you are somebody that has things to cover, but like a good lightweight concealer then this foundation is perfect.
As normal with everything that I mention here on my blog I will leave a link down below to the product in case you want to check it out. If you have tried this foundation, make sure to leave me a comment and let me know what you think of it!

  1. I need to repurchase this! I love the flawless look it gives xx

  2. I go through phases where I want to try a new foundation but then just end up sticking to what I know and love - my Nars sheer Glow. That said, this sounds amazing too x

    1. I love the Nars Sheer Glow too, it always gives such a stunning finish!

  3. What a lovely, detailed review! I would love to try it and it is good to hear that it doesn't accentuate dryness, because I have fairly dry skin, so texture is my number one enemy. Thanks for the inspiration!
