Nars Soft Matte Concealer Review

I literally only had to hear Carli Bybel talk about this concealer just once and I knew that I would love it. She then went onto use it for months in her YouTube tutorials and it literally frustrated the living shit out of me because I was desperate for it and it hadn’t even been released yet. But, I guess the old saying goes, good things come to those who wait. As soon as it went onto the Space NK website I logged on and bought it straight away.
The first time that I tried this out, I knew that it would end up being one of my ride or die products, as cheesy as that sounds. I gave this a good couple of weeks trying it out before I decided to post about it, because I really wanted to see how it lasted on my skin. No matter what I have thrown at this concealer it has dealt with everything and it always looks really flawless.  This has pretty much being the only concealer that I have reached for in months, which says a lot in itself.
I bought this Nars Soft Matte Concealer in the shade Custard without even thinking about it. That is the shade that I use in the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, so I assumed it would just be the same. I would say that the Custard in the Nars Soft Matte Concealer is lighter than the Radiant Creamy, but only ever so slightly. I must admit that I actually like the extra bit of light, especially for underneath my eyes. I would say that this really is the most perfect shade for my skin colour, especially with some tanner on.
I have applied this to my face with a brush and with my finger and I have no preference really, I tend to use a brush though just to cut down on mess. This is super creamy and easy to get the product out of the pot, I know what may sound like a silly thing to have to mention but when I first got the Becca Ultimate Cover Crème Concealer I had to really hack at it in order to get some out of the post. This Nars Soft Matte Concealer is really nice and creamy and just blends as the name suggests, really softly onto the skin.

Like I said, I like to apply this to my face using a brush. Normally I will take my flat Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate brush to lay the product down. I will take it underneath my eyes, centre of the forehead, down the bridge of the nose and in the centre of the chin. I will then take my damp Beauty Blender and pat away until the concealer seamlessly blends into my foundation. Then I am left with a really smooth and perfected looking base, I have never used a concealer that leaves me skin looking as poreless as this Nars Soft Matte Concealer does.
When I apply it, and blend it out this way I find that it gives a nice full coverage look. I have packed this on and blended it out with my finger before and you get a really intense coverage that can cover everything. I can get some really dark circles underneath my eyes, which only the MAC Studio Fix Concealer has been able to cover before, but this one did it straight away with no issues. And the darkness doesn’t even start to peek through as the day goes on!

In the pot, you get 6.5g of the Nars Soft Matte concealer which is pretty good for a pot of concealer. In the MAC Studio Fix Concealer, you get 7g and in the Becca Ultimate Cover Crème Concealer you get 4.8g. So, you do get a good amount of product in this. And, with how nice, creamy and pigmented this particular Nars Soft Matte concealer is I can see it lasting for a very long time.
I have quite large pores at the sides of my nose, but with this concealer, on, they look completely blurred out and it even helps me to control my oils throughout the day. Whereas I normally have to powder and mattify a couple times a day, with this I have to do it once at the most which is a big thing for me. I am sat here writing this post trying to think of a criticism that I have for this concealer but I really don’t have one.
I have been using this day in and day out and this is incredible. I have been to the gym in this stuff, even spent the day walking around Rome and Florence in 30-degree heat and it has stayed put and kept my skin somewhat normal. That to me just showed that this is a great high quality product, I am sure I paid around £22 for this product and then postage on top of it and I really do think that it justifies that high price tag. If you have tried this concealer I am sure you will know what I mean, but it is just a really good quality product.

I could go on about this concealer for a very long time, but I will reign it in and stop here. It is so nice and full coverage, super creamy and blendable and I have just really been enjoying using it every single day. As normal I will leave a link down below to the product in case you want to check it out. Also, all of the items that I have mentioned in this post are linked to their full reviews.
Make sure you leave me a comment down below and let me know if you have tried this concealer out and what you thought about it!
