Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow Primer Review

As you may already know if you have read my blog in the past, I’m not a fan of primers. I have just never really felt that they were necessary for me or my skin type. Plus, I have normal skin that tends to gravitate towards oily, so when I have used a primer it has just been a small amount around my nose and my t-zone and when I do need one I tend to just reach for my Benefit Porefessional Primer. But, recently I have really been interested in different primers and trying out some new things and I felt like this Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow Primer was just screaming out to me to finally get my hands on it and try it out for myself.

I am sure that all of the makeup lovers out there will have seen luminous primers out there are the market like this Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow Primer. Every single brand seems to be coming out with one of them at the moment and I cannot deny that they always look so stunning when they are applied to the skin, so naturally I wanted to try them out for myself.  I didn’t know what brand to try because there are so many out there, but in the end, I decided to go for Charlotte Tilbury because her products are always top notch in my opinion. I think that I hesitated in buying this primer for so long because with me having normal/oily skin, I thought that a luminous primer might just make me have pores like an oil slick.

The other thing that tempted me into trying this Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow Primer was the fact that when I was using my fuller coverage foundations that my face just looked quite flat. I know that I like to be matte because it helps me to control the shine, but my face just looked quite boring and I don’t want that when I have gone through the whole effort of highlighting, contouring and baking. I wanted a product to bring some dimension back into the face and give me an overall much more natural kind of makeup look.

After I saw this in a Charlotte Tilbury YouTube tutorial, I knew that I had to finally get my hands on it and try it for myself. I think that she used this in a video where she did Olivia Culpo’s makeup and I could not deny that it made her already stunning skin, look even better. Charlotte described this as a filter in a bottle and I couldn’t disagree that was exactly that it looked like. From that, I logged straight onto the Charlotte Tilbury website and bought this for myself along with lots of other goodies that she was using in her video. I even paid  for next day delivery which just shows how eager I was to finally get my hands on this!

First off, the packaging of this primer is stunning. Primers I think tend to be in quite ugly packaging, but this is gorgeous. It just looks pretty and really glam. When this is sat on my vanity it just looks so pretty and it makes me excited to use it. I feel like it suits the whole Charlotte Tilbury aesthetic really well with the vintage inspired packaging. I love to leave this sat on my vanity with other Charlotte Tilbury products because it really is a stunning item. I also love that it is in a squeezy tube because it gives you complete control over how much product you are using and dispensing.

When you squeeze some of this primer out onto your hand it is easy to see that it has some colour to it. It is like a skin colour with glitter running through it. When I say glitter, I don’t mean big chunky glitter it just has a nice gleam to it. It just helps to make your skin look like it is glowing. When you blend this into the skin, you cannot see the colour of the primer and it just merges into the skin absolutely flawlessly. When you just have a light layer of this on the skin it just looks like your skin is healthy and glowing.

I wouldn’t say that this primer helps with my skin type, in no way do I think that this controls my oil or fills in my pores, but it does look gorgeous on the skin and makes your makeup look so beautiful on top. I do have quite large pores around my nose which comes with being oily and this doesn’t hide then, nor does it accentuate them, it just helps to blur them out because of how much the primer glows. I also find that this primer just allows the foundation to glide onto the skin so nice and smoothly. When I allow the Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow Primer to sink into my skin for a while before I go in with my foundation it makes it look really perfected.

I really do love this primer. To be honest it is probably one of the most expensive primers that I have bought at £38, but in my opinion, I would buy it again. I don’t think that I would use it every single day but when I go in for the fuller coverage foundations this is my go to. As normal on my posts please be sure to leave me any comments or questions that you have below, and I will get right back to you. Also, I will leave a link below where you can check this product out in case you want to check it out.
