Benefit Porefessional Primer Review

I cannot believe how long it has taken me to finally try the Benefit Porefessional Primer. This seems to be like a cult beauty product for people with oily skin so in reality I should have tried it much sooner than I did. I think part of the reason why I haven’t tried this sooner is because I never really used to believe in primers. I used to think they primers were a little bit of a fad and I hate paying for something that is clear and that you cannot see on the skin, I know that sounds ridiculous but it’s true. I like to have something to show for my money and I just don’t feel like I have when I buy primers or setting sprays.

But I got to a stage with my makeup where I was paying for all these expensive base products like foundations and concealers and they weren’t looking as good as they could because of my skin type. So, I finally caved and started trying out more primers. This Benefit Porefessional was one of them that was right at the top of my list to try out. If you have oily skin or even just large pores I feel like this is one of them holy grail products that you have to own or at least try out a couple of times. So, I picked this up from Boots using all of my spare points, so luckily, I didn’t have to pay a penny for it!

As soon as I got this product delivered I raced straight upstairs to my dressing room to try it out. To start with, I think I did go in with a little too much product. In the end, I worked out to just use a small pea-sized amount in the areas where I need it. For me, I apply this just around my nose and my t-zone where I tend to get the oiliest and where I have large pores. I just apply the product to the areas where I need it and then I will use my fingers to work it into the skin until it feels lovely and smooth on the skin.

When I apply this primer, I try to just leave it for 10 minutes before going in with foundation just to let it soak into the skin and really work its magic. That way I know that the primer isn’t going to move around on my skin as I am buffing my foundation into my skin. As soon as you start to apply this primer to the skin it just feels like silk and so beautiful and smooth. If I look at my skin in the mirror before and after I apply this primer, I can see a big difference in the appearance of my skin and how even my skin looks.

What I really love about this Benefit Porefessional Primer is that there is nothing sticky about it, this seems to just glide on really nicely and it soaks into the skin in absolutely no time at all. For me, this primer gets to work straight away, and I can see straight off the back that my pores look smaller and my skin just looks so much smoother. Plus, when I then go in with my foundation it blends out so much nicer on top of the foundation. I have tried so many different foundations paired with this primer and with every single one, it looks really nice and blends in like an absolutely dream.

Since I first bought this Benefit Porefessional Primer, I have been using it day in and day out and I have to admit that I am loving it. I think that it keeps my oils at bay and it makes my skin look so beautiful and flawless for much longer. I wouldn’t say that it keeps me completely matte throughout the day, but I certainly do go in with my powder and blotting sheets much less throughout the day now I have started to use this product. When I use this product, I know that I can apply my makeup in a morning and it will still be in place and look good 12 hours later.

I really cannot recommend this Benefit Primer. It has absolutely smashed every other primer that I have tried recently right out of the park. It is my new go to and I even have another one on order, I just wish that they did them in larger tubes because I am flying through this like nobody’s business. As normal here on my blog is you have any questions about this primer just leave them in the box down below. Also, I will link to where you can find this primer in case you want to check it out. So, what primers have you been loving in 2017?

  1. I've been using Illamasqua Hydra Veil for a while now as my skin is so dehydrated. Porefessional is a primer that I've been meaning to try for ages but have never wanted to spend that much money on incase it didn't work for me. x

    1. Honestly it is the best primer that I have ever used. I do try to concentrate it around my nose where I am oily because it can cling to dry patches!
