Morphe E48 Tapered Blending Brush Review

I think I mentioned in my last post about the Morphe E20 that I was inspired down the Morphe path thanks to their biggest and most popular ambassador, Jaclyn Hill. She did a video on her YouTube channel where she listed all of her favourite Morphe brushes and this Morphe E48 was one of them. If I remember correctly she used this to set the area under her eyes so I thought that I would give it a go. I have been using the Real Techniques Setting Brush under my eyes for the longest time, so I am very happy now that I have found a replacement because I thought that it was about time that I upgraded.

Not that I really needed to find a replacement for my Real Techniques Setting Brush because I really do love that brush and it has served me well over the years, but I have been using it for so long, so I wanted to give something else a go for a while. Plus, the good thing about this brush is that it is quite a bit larger than the Real Techniques brush, so I can set the area much quicker and even do a little baking with it. I think I picked this up from Beauty Bay and I am positive that it was under £10, which for a face brush, I think is a great price.

The main thing about this brush that has made me fall in love with it is how soft it is which makes it perfect for using underneath the eyes and setting the whole area using a translucent powder. Over the years, I have tried out so many face brushes, by so many different brands and I have never tried any brush that is quite as soft as this one. Thinking about it, all of the Morphe makeup brushes that I have bought have been incredibly soft which is just out of this world for the really low price point. I was sceptical about Morphe as a brand before trying them out for myself, but the quality in my opinion has never been anything other than high.

The found that the bristles on this Morphe E48 brush does a great job at picking up and holding the product to the bristles. Plus, when you have used this brush a couple times you can see that the brush has really fluffed up a little bit and looks more or less double the size. And even though it does make it larger because it is tapered it is still easy to get into all of the nooks and crannies around your eyes and right into all of the fine lines and creases. I feel like this just becomes the most beautiful shape and I am so happy with it now that I have it and I have been using it for quite a while.

Even though I have been using this brush primarily underneath my eyes for setting my concealer into place I have tried it for powder contouring as well. Because it is tapered it is great for laying the colour down along my cheekbone and then the outer bristles help to disperse the product and keep it looking really soft. The only thing for me that will keep me using my Real Techniques Setting Brush is the size of it. Because it is smaller, and it has a much smaller handle it is great for just throwing in my makeup bag when I am out and about for the day, because my Morphe E48 brush is quite long from tip to top.

I don’t want to turn this post into something really long because at the end of the day this is just about a simple brush. But I do really love it and I can really see myself using it constantly for months on end, or until I find something that can top this one. As normal with all of my blog posts, I will leave a link to this product down below in case you want to check it out for yourself. Make sure to leave me a comment and let me know if you have tried this brush or let me know what your favourite makeup brushes are!
