Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette Review

The Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette is just one of them makeup items that has been on my wish list that I have wanted for the longest time. I think it is the shiny gold packaging that attracts me towards it like a magpie. I don’t know what it is about Charlotte Tilbury but there is something about every single product that she brings out that makes me need it. I don’t know if anybody will remember the old Makeup Forever Highlighting and Contour Duo palette that they used to have. I used to love that stuff and literally used every single drop of it that I possibly could. I wanted a palette to replace that which was initially why I wanted this Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow.

After looking into this Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow palette, I realised it wouldn’t be that similar to the Makeup Forever Sculpting Palette after all. The Charlotte Tilbury shades are much more shimmery where the Makeup Forever palette is completely matte, so it can be used for highlighting and contouring all over the face. That didn’t put me off though I still knew that I needed this palette, for the packaging if nothing else. I must admit that I am so happy to finally have my hands on this beautiful product.

The only thing that took me so long about deciding to buy this Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow was the shades. As you may or may not know Charlotte Tilbury has two shades of the Filmstar Bronze and Glow, a light and a deep. My ideal shade would be one smack, bang in the middle. For me, I wish that I had the highlight from the lighter palette and the contour from the deeper one and that would be my ideal combination. I know that may sound strange but for my Italian olive skin complexion that would be perfect.

In the end, I settled for the lighter shade of the two and I am really glad that I did. I initially thought that the contour shade in the light palette would be too light for my skin tone, but I was wrong, and it is the perfect ashy contouring shade for my medium/olive skin tone. Anyway, before I ramble on too much about the shade that I bought, let me get into the review itself.

This palette is £49 on the Charlotte Tilbury website which is where I bought it from direct. Which when you think about it is only £25 for each of the pans of product which I think is well worth it, especially when you can pay £30+ for a Becca highlighter on its own. And for the high quality and absolutely stunning packaging I really don’t think you can go wrong for that price. Plus, I want to touch on the outer packaging of this product. It has two sleeves that fit either end of the product and it just helps to add to the whole glam and elaborate feel of the product. It is so much nicer than just your standard cardboard packaging that makeup usually comes in.

The contour shade in the palette is really stunning. I use the Charlotte Tilbury Powder & Sculpt brush is perfect for this product because it is stunning and tapered. I dip the very tip of the brush into the product and then apply it to my face and the outer bristles of the brush help to disperse the product and blend it out. It has a small amount of shimmer in it, but it isn’t overpowering. I think it looks natural on the skin and gives you more dimension.

For the highlighter, I don’t even know where to start. I am obsessed with this highlighter. I know that highlighting is the world’s biggest craze at the moment, but I don’t like over doing it. I like a subtle highlight so some of the new ones out there on the market just aren’t for me. This is just a perfect flush and it makes the skin look like it is glowing rather than a chunky strip of highlighter on your cheekbone. If you are with me in this opinion, this is the most perfect highlighter ever.

I really cannot stop singing this palettes praises. I think that everybody of all skin types and colours should give this a go, or at least try and go into a store and check them out. In my opinion it is worth every single penny and I know for sure that I will be repurchasing one when this one inevitably runs out. I will leave a link to this product down below in case you want to check it out for yourself. Make sure to leave me a comment and let me know if you have tried this palette and what you thought about it!
