Best Beauty On A Budget

I know that here on my blog I often do blog posts on high end makeup and my views on them. I do have some drugstore products mixed in with them but I have to admit there isn't as many as them as higher end products.

I wanted to create a post for you that pin points my favourite drugstore or budget makeup products and why I love them so much. There are so many to chose from and in this day and age drug store makeup really is catching up the quality of high end and designer makeup.

I do have lower end brands that I am loyal to and I know that if I buy something from that particular brand it is going to work well for me. Just because these brands work well for me doesn't mean they will work the same for me. Just remember when I mention there products that they work for my oily/combination skin type. So without further ado, lets get started...

Foundations to me are everything. If the base doesn't look flawless then the makeup you put on top of that isn't going to look how you want it, so I can be quite fussy. One of my favourites is the Maybelline Fit Me foundation. Fit Me is a medium coverage foundation with a whole range of colour selections so there should be something for everybody. Also it sits really nice on the skin and can be built up to make it a fuller coverage. Another drugstore foundation is the L'Oreal Infallible foundation. I have been using this foundation for probably 10 years or so now. Packaging may have changed throughout the year but the product is still high coverage and wears really nicely. It can feel quite thick on the skin but that doesn't personally bother me.

There really is one concealer that stands out for me and that is the Maybelline Fit Me. This really is a near copy for the Nars Creamy Concealer and the Chanel Concealer. The formulation is so incredible, it is nourishing and hydrating but it covers absolutely everything. And for a couple of pound I think you would be crazy not to own one of these. Another amazing concealer is the LA Girl Pro Conceal in the shade Yellow. This concealer in this shade is a more or less the exact same product as the MAC Prep and Prime in the shade Lightboost.

Obviously I need to mention a couple of contouring products. I usually cream and then powder contour to set it in place. I will either use the same concealers as I previously mentioned but in deeper tones to my skin tones. I know that these apply and blend nicely so I never have to worry about the quality of the products. To set it into place I will just use a powder a few shades deeper than my skintone, my personal favourite is the L'Oreal True Match Powder.

Powder/Setting The Face

I only have one favourite for this and that is the Rimmel translucent powder. This comes in a pressed powder compact and is amazing. Small enough to carry in your bag and much less messy than a more expensive translucent loose powder. I recommend this to everybody. You can pick these up from Amazon for a couple of pounds.

I have two all time favourite drugstore mascaras. The first of the two is the Maybelline Colossal Mascara. This is amazing. Makes lashes look thick and jet black. I have tried higher end brands but I always just go back to this. My other favourite is the L'Oreal Million Lashes mascara. I have owned this for years, I saw Eva Longoria Promote it and I had to buy it and I have replenished it ever since! The comb like wand really separates your lashes and stops clumping, but if you allow it to dry and built it up it makes your lashes look so long!

That is all for this blog post, I will be doing another one soon with more of my drugstore favourite products so make sure to keep your eyes peeled for it. As always I would love to hear from you so leave me a comment or drop me an email and I will get back to you straight away. I have a list of products mentioned below and links to where to buy them...

  1. i so want to try the la girl pro conceal concealer. its sounds so good. also, maybelline and l'oréal just do the best mascaras.

    1. I love the LA Girl concealers, especially for contouring with because they are so creamy!
