What's In My Makeup Bag?

At the minute, I am in the Cotswolds on a little get away with my boyfriend. This is my most favourite place in the whole world and I come here at every chance I get. When people from different countries think of England I imagine that they think of the Cotswolds. Anyway, while I am here I thought I would post a ‘What’s in My Makeup Bag Post’.

While we are away we will mainly just be walking around and enjoying the country side with each other. And no doubt we will be going to the pub together and drinking far too much and eating far too much food!

When I am away from home I rarely bring any makeup with me because I just don’t see the point in it. So, I just bring the bare essentials. So, let’s get started…

1)             Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation

Best foundation ever. It is full coverage but it can be sheered out if you want. And, because of highly pigmented it is, you can use it to conceal certain areas if you need extra coverage in certain places and not just another layer of foundation all over.

2)          MAC Full Coverage Crème Foundation

I press full coverage foundation onto certain areas of my cheeks to pack on the coverage because of my hyperpigmentation. Just the littlest bit of this goes the longest way, for a natural but full coverage look I will use my Beauty Blender.

3)          Maybelline Fit Me for Highlighting

This concealer is perfect for on the go. Because of the packaging, it is great for travelling with and it is highlight and brightening and great for the under eye area. I apply this straight from the wand and then blend it out using my damp Beauty Blender.

4)          LA Girl Pro Conceal for Contouring

This product for concealing with is amazing. There is a brush built into the end to dispense the product with so there is no need to carry another brush. Then I just blend it in either using the same Beauty Blender I used for my highlight or I use a MAC 130 brush.

5)          Laura Mercier Translucent Powder

This is such a great powder. I would have probably brought the RCMA powder with me but the packaging on that one sucks. This is a good powder with suitable packaging for travelling with. I set my entire face with this powder and bake the area under my eyes.

6)          MAC Shaping and Sculpting Powders

This palette is so good. It is all I need when it comes to highlighting and contouring, it is even great when it comes to eyeshadow looks because I only ever go for neutral looks. Not to mention that I made this palette so I like every single shade in it.

7)          Bobbi Brown Bronzer

I love this Bobbi Brown bronzer it is great for just making the skin look a little healthier in the colder months when my skin looks dull. It does have orange undertones but it also has ash tones in there that make you look nice and contoured!

8)          MAC 4 x Eyeshadow Quad

I put in here enough eyeshadows to create normal daytime looks and deeper going out looks. Its great because it is so compact. Plus, with these eyeshadows because I have matte brown shades I can even fill my eyebrows in.

9)          Seventeen High Drama Eyeliner

This is the only thing I use to create a winged liner, so easy to use and it is super black. This eyeliner isn’t called as waterproof but I have worn this in the pouring down rain before and even after a good cry and it hasn’t ever smudged!

10)        Maybelline Sensational Mascara

Makes lashes thick and really black. Has been my go to mascara for years and years. I really cannot see myself using anything but this for a long time. And I am sure this only cost me around £4 and it by far beats my higher end mascaras.

11)        Anastasia Brow Pomade

I love this for making my brows looks really natural because it allows me to do brush like strokes. I use this with the Anastasia brow brush and it is a pair made in heaven. I wasn’t too sure about this product when I first got it, but now I am obsessed.

12)        MAC Lip Liner in Soar, Whirl and Spice

I love my neutral lip liners, I carry these with me every day, never mind on a night away. They just last all day long when they are applied, they can be really drying but I just make sure that I have a nice moisturising balm in my pocket for when I touch up.

13)        MAC Velvet Teddy and Whirl Lipsticks

My favourite lipsticks ever, basically the only ones I ever use. These two nude lipsticks are my go to products. They are both matte so they last really long on the lips and when paired with the matching MAC lipliner there is no stopping them!

That is, it for my makeup, now just other bits that were in there…

1)                Beauty Blender

I use this for everything, it is so multifunctional. I use it for foundation, concealer and contour and it works like a dream. Not too great for travelling with because of the water in them they can smell damp but other than that, they are amazing.

2)             Morphe M439 Buffing Brush

The best foundation brush ever, it blends the Marc Jacobs perfectly and packs the MAC Full Coverage on if I need it. I buff my foundations with this brush and because of how densely packed the bristles are it is great for packing on product.

3)             Real Techniques Setting Brush

For setting the under eyes and powder highlighting. This brush is just great as well for throwing in your bag for touching up throughout the day because of how small and lightweight it is. If I load it up with powder in the morning I wont have to carry a compact with me either.

4)             Real Techniques Powder Brush

For setting the whole face. It is a great brush and good for so many things. Even when I don’t have my Tom Ford Bronzer brush with me this one is even great for bronzer.

5)             Real Techniques Blush Brush

For softly blending in my MAC Sculpting Powders. But obviously as the name suggests it is good for blush as well. The great thing about Real Techniques brushes is that they are so multipurpose.

6)          Tom Ford Bronzer Brush

To pair with my Bobbi Brown bronzer around the parameters of the face. Also, when this brush is clean you can use it to set the whole face with. This is just such a good brush for the face and body because of how big it is.

7)          MAC 217 Brush

For all eyeshadow application, I don’t see the point in using lots of brushes, when one is good enough. All you have to do it wipe it down after each colour and then you are good to move onto the next colour.

8)          Anastasia Brow Brush

For applying the Anastasia Brow Pomade, this brush is thin enough to get the look of individual hairs. It is amazing and I haven’t touched another brow style of brush since I got this one. It was expensive but I love it.

9)          Scissors

I always have tags to cut off and you just never know when you will need scissors. And the only time that I have been away and not brought my scissors I really needed them so I just make sure that I have a little pair in my bag.

10)        Contraceptive Pill

For obvious reasons, I carry my contraceptive pill with me. I have the one that I take one a day at the same time. I have been on it for years now and I have never had any issues with it. It works well for me so I am going to stick to it.

11)        Migraine Tablets

I always suffer from bad migraines so it is easier to be prepared. The ones that I have are the ones that apparently get to work really quickly. I have these tablets scattered around everywhere, at work, in my handbag and even in my car.

That is everything that is in my makeup bag that I could possibly need for my small visit here. I would love to hear from you so leave me comments below or drop me an email and I would love to get back to you!

  1. I usually carry with me 6-7 lipsticks (I cannot help it), my bb cream, a blush and a mascara!! I also have migraine tablets just in case I suffer from a headache, especially at work!

    1. Migraine tablets are a must for me too, I panic if I don't have them with me!

  3. Great post, love pretty much everything you have mentioned. Still need to crack open my beauty blender and see if it is worth the money. I have never tried the LM translucent powder either, but I am a big fan of the RCMA No Colour Powder, have you tried it? Xx

    1. I love both the RCMA No Colour Powder and the Laura Mercier Translucent powder, even though I really do love the LM powder, the RCMA is my holy grail. The quality of the product along with the amount you get for the price makes it incredible!

  4. I love Marc Jacobs and want to try that foundation next. MAC Soar is my most used lip liner. It's so amazing!!
