Makeup Forever HD Foundation Stick Review

I am so happy that I finally have my hands on this new Makeup Forever HD Stick Foundation. I have had my eye on this for quite a while, but I wanted to check out some reviews on it before I go ahead and spend my hard-earned cash on it. I have always been such a big fan of stick foundation and I think that stems from having an oily complexion because they just seem to work so well and effortlessly for me. The moment I saw this foundation starting to make an appearance all over the YouTube channels and big blogs, I knew that I had to get my hands on it and give it a go for myself.

I just want to say before I actually get into this review, that I absolutely adore this Makeup Forever HD Foundation Stick. If you have followed my blog for some time, you will know that I absolutely love foundations and getting to try out new ones, but I never feel like I have found a holy grail product that I want to use day in and day out, that was until I tried this foundation anyway. There is so much that I love about this foundation and so many reasons why I keep reaching for it, so I thought that I would share that with you in this blog post and maybe you will want to try it out for yourself.

First up let’s start with the packaging, everybody should know by now that I love to speak about the packaging because in my opinion, it is the first thing that you notice about a product. This is in a plastic wind up foundation tube. Pretty standard for a foundation stick, but not as nice as the Bobbi Brown foundation stick packaging, because it does feel pretty cheap. But for when you are on the go or travelling this is really great. You know when you put this in your case and you then open it up that it will still be intact. Not to mention that I love this foundation because it is great for on the go and I can put this on in my car after the gym and not have to worry about making a mess or needing anything other than my fingers!

How I like to use this Makeup Forever Foundation Stick is just by going in with it directly on the skin. I will just wind it up a touch and then draw lines all over the face and then take my Morphe M439 and buff it all into the skin. I would say with one light layer of this foundation you are left with a medium level of coverage. Then all you need to do to build it up ever so slightly is just draw more lines on top and buff it out again. I have problem areas on my skin and I find that with two coats of this I am good to go, and I don’t have to worry about any of my darkness or pigmentation damage peaking through!

I also find that this is such a stunning and creamy product. Sometimes, cream foundation sticks can be quite dry and hard to work with, but this is quite the opposite. The way this glides onto the skin is so silky and smooth and I think that is one of the main reasons why I have been enjoying this so much. Then when you come to blending it out, whether you use a brush, sponge or even your fingers, you know that it is going to look stunning on the skin and blend out like an absolute dream. If you want to get more coverage out of the product, I would recommend using a buffing brush.

I will say that this is quite a hydrating foundation so in hindsight it doesn’t really go hand in hand with my oily skin, but it actually works really well. It sits on my skin beautifully and always looks very nice. I would say that the only area on my skin that can get a touch overly oily is around my nose, but I think that is more of an issue with my skin than it is this primer. It certainly wouldn’t put me off from using it and it is nothing that a little touch up with a compact cannot sort out throughout the day.

The last thing that I want to touch on in this blog post is the longevity of this Makeup Forever HD Foundation Stick. I can put this on first thing in a morning before I head out to work and it lasts all day absolutely beautifully. I will even say that as the day goes on, I actually think that this foundation looks more beautiful on the skin as my natural oils start to come out and make the foundation look healthier. Plus, as a side note, I want to mention that the shade range for this foundation is vast and there should be something to suit everybody. It can be a little daunting to try and find your shade in this product because of all of the different undertones available, but it is well worth it once you have it!

There really is no more that I can say about this Makeup Forever HD Foundation Stick that I haven’t already mentioned. It is an incredibly foundation that is great for on the go, amazing shade range, super creamy, blends in like a dream and it has a lovely level of coverage for an everyday basis. I would highly recommend that everybody goes out and gives this foundation a try because I really do think that it is a versatile foundation that would suit so many people with so many different skin types. I will leave a link to this foundation down below in case you want to check it out for yourself. Make sure to leave me a comment and let me know if you have tried this foundation and what you thought about it.

  3. I'm just the same when it comes to foundations and bases: I'm so picky that it took me a while to find my holy grail! I've never tried a foundation stick before, but this one sounds rather good and, actually, quite adapted to my skintype, even though my skin is more on the normal side of things!

  7. I was really unsure about this one! I like the formula but it doesn't seem to last very long on my skin and so I'm not sure I'd repurchase!
