MAC Lipsticks in Stone and Twig

I was walking past the MAC counter in Selfridges the other day and I simply had to treat myself to something so I settled for these two lipsticks from MAC. Recently I have turned into such a lipstick hoarder, which is something completely new for me because I usually opt for base products if anything. But, I have been buying so many lipsticks at the moment by loads of different brands. The ultimate goal at the moment is to have one of them revolving lipstick holders full of all my different lipsticks, I think I still have a way to go until I get to that kind of Beauty YouTuber level anyway.

I knew that when I was buying these I wanted something that was really similar to my natural lip colour, so I went for the shade Twig. Before I had got Velvet Teddy thinking it was going to match my lips but it was too pink, then I got Whirl thinking that may be better but that was too brown for me. When I looked at this in the store, Twig seemed to be a mix of Whirl and Velvet Teddy so I got it and I have been loving it recently. This colour really does mimic the natural colour of my lips. I have been using this near enough every single day and I am obsessed, this really is right up there with Charlotte Tilbury Super Cindy in my opinion, which is very high praise!

The other MAC lipstick that I got was the shade Stone. I think that this is such an iconic MAC shade and that is why I wanted to pick this up and try it for myself. I think that everybody should have a deep shade in their collection because it is such a stunning and seasonal kind of lip shade. I love to wear this kind of colour especially at this time of the year when we are in the midst of winter. This colour is very similar to the Charlotte Tilbury shade Birkin Brown, but this is ashier whereas the CT shade is redder in tone.

I think that when you go with basics like these from MAC, you really cannot go wrong, they are such staple items and their lipsticks will never fail you. I think that they are both very creamy and pigmented, not only that, they last like an absolute dream on the lips no matter if you are eating or drinking. I am so happy with this purchase because I really feel like they have filled a gap that I had in my collection and that is why I bought these shades to start with. I know that I have mentioned MAC lipsticks many times here on my blog before, but they are just a great staple that I love to treat myself to.

I’m not going to make this post any longer than it needs to be, because it really isn’t necessary. I think the quality of these two new shades are stunning and I cannot wait to start wearing them a little more. If you are wanting to build a lipstick collection, then I wouldn’t look any further than MAC lipsticks, they do an incredible job and I love reaching for them. I will leave a link to these items down below in case you want to check them out for yourself. Make sure to leave me a comment and let me know if you have tried this out for yourself and what some of your favourite lipstick shades are!
