Makeup Forever HD Concealer Review

I know that if you guys have been visiting my blog for a while that you are probably rolling your eyes and wanting to tell me off for uploading yet another concealer review, but I really had to tell you guys about this Makeup Forever HD Concealer. If you watch YouTube videos and read as many beauty blogs as I do, then I am sure that you guys have seen this concealer been mentioned countless times and I am a sucker for wanting to try out new things, so naturally I had to buy this. I didn’t even intend on purchasing this, but one day when I was happening to be browsing on the Debenhams website and before I knew it, it was in my basket and I was popping in my card details!

I think the main reason why I thought that this concealer would appeal to me is because it is meant to be ultimate coverage with a very lightweight texture. I feel like many of my concealers are pretty thick and they can feel quite heavy on the skin. I want something that is nice and lightweight that I can reach for on a daily basis, but that still has a nice amount of coverage to it and I feel like this Makeup Forever HD Concealer might be the right concealer to do the job. Anyway, without any further rambling from me, here is my full review on this Makeup Forever Concealer.

The first thing that I want to talk about is the packaging. I am sure that most people probably aren’t bothered about hearing about the packaging of a product, but it is a big deal to me. I will admit that I like the packaging of this concealer, but it isn’t my favourite. I like that it is a squeezy tube, because that way you are in full control of the amount of product that you dispense. The nozzle of the product is rounded off at the tip so that you can apply it straight to the face and spread the product out, but I feel that applying it in this way doesn’t give you full control and it can mean that you apply far too much.

I now dispense this to the back of my hand before I go in and apply it to my face. When this is on the back of my hand, it is easy to see that it is a thin and lightweight consistency. I would say that it is somewhere between the consistency of the Tarte Creaseless Concealer, which is pretty thick and the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, which is a very lightweight product. Because of this, I think that it applies beautifully and with no effort at all. I place it onto the face using a traditional concealer brush and then I blend it out using my damp Beauty Blender and it looks seamless and flawless in an instant.

I would say that the coverage of this Makeup Forever HD Concealer is a medium coverage. Some may class this as a full coverage product, but with the things I put it up against, to me it is a medium coverage. When I apply this in the areas that I need it, I do feel the need to go back in and apply a second layer in order to cover everything. I know that the darkness my eyes is a hard task to try and cover, and I feel like this does a good job, it is just not the absolute best, in terms of coverage that I have ever used before. If you are looking for something that is ultimate coverage and you don’t mind sacrificing the consistency, I would go for the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer that is currently taking the world by storm!

When I have this concealer on and I set it with my translucent powder, it is locked into place and it lasts me all day long. I never have to worry about it separating with my oils, it is transferring, or it is looking cakey. I have been applying this first thing in a morning before I head out to work and around 10 hours later when I am ready to take my makeup off, my skin still looks as it did first thing in the morning when I first applied it, which is a completely winner in my book.

To round up, I think that this is a very beautiful concealer. I think if you are doing editorial work and you know that you are going to have your photograph taken, then this is the concealer to reach for. With this being a HD product, it will be undetectable in photos and look beautiful. For an everyday concealer, I just don’t know if this is the product for me. It does look very nice on the skin, but it doesn’t give me the full coverage look that I am after. I will leave a link to this down below in case you want to check it out for yourself. Make sure to leave me a comment and let me know if you have tried this out and what you thought about it!
