YSL Touche Eclat Foundation Review

I don’t even know where to start with this YSL Touché Eclat Foundation. I have had this for a couple of months now and I planned on doing my review sooner, but I genuinely didn’t know where to start with this foundation. I bought this simply because the bottle was stunning, and I wanted to try something else out by YSL Beauty. I have previously tried the Touché Eclat Concealer/Highlighting Wand and I adored it, so I thought that I would stay within the same family and go for the corresponding foundation. Let me tell you, since I first bought this foundation I haven’t reached for anything else and I use it time and time again.

I have used this foundation day in and day out for months now and I think that I can quite safely say that this is one of the best foundations that I have ever used. I feel like sometimes I can get myself stuck in a rut when it comes to foundations. I tend to stick to what I know and not branch out much, but I am so happy that I picked up this YSL Touché Eclat Foundation. My mum has even started to use this since I bought it and it well and truly has her stamp of approval, which is a bloody difficult thing to try and obtain!

The first thing that I want to talk about is the packaging. I love to talk about packaging because I am a sucker for something that is sleek and high end. I think that the glass bottle of this foundation is just so beautiful, and the gold top is simply stunning and so YSL. I will admit that it isn’t great for travelling with because it is all glass and quite large and heavy, but I will live with that because it is just so stunning. I have always said that I don’t mind paying high end for a product as long as the packaging reflects the price that I am paying, and I know that sounds quite petty, but it is true.

Now, let me get onto the product itself. The first thing that I love that I want to mention is the consistency of this foundation. When you pump this out onto the back of your hand, it is a very smooth and lightweight feel foundation. It glides onto the skin so nice and smooth and it never looks thick or cakey, especially when I go in with a buffing brush like my Morphe M439. I think out of all the foundations that I have tried recently, this is by far the nicest with regards to the consistency of the foundation itself.

Now, I want to talk about the coverage. I would say that this is a medium to full coverage foundation. With one light layer of this foundation, my skin is much more even and looks very beautiful. But, when I look closely I can still see areas of darker pigmentation such as on my cheeks and the discolouration underneath my eyes. All I do is go in with a touch more product on my brush and I just press it into the areas where I feel I need a touch more coverage and this stuff works like a dream. A little seems to go a very long way and it builds up very beautifully.

Another bonus in my opinion is the scent of this YSL Touché Eclat Foundation. I know that hell of a lot of people will feel the opposite as I do and that the scent isn’t for them, but personally I really love it. I think that the scent of it just adds to its appeal and makes it feel even more high-end. I understand that this will make it unsuitable for some people because fragrance can be bad for sensitive skin, but it isn’t an issue for me because I have very clear and normal skin.

There really isn’t much more that I can say about this foundation that I haven’t already said. It is a wonderful consistency, it blends into the skin like a dream, the coverage is perfect and can be built up to be nice and full coverage and it lasts beautifully. I know that this is already a very popular foundation, but if you haven’t tried this yet and if you have been thinking about trying it, I would highly recommend giving it a try. Even go into a store and ask for a sample because I think that it is well worth it. I will leave a link to this YSL Touché Eclat Foundation down below in case you want to check it out for yourself. Make sure to leave me a comment and let me know if you have tried this foundation and what you thought about it!
