Huge Makeup Haul

I know I said it at the start of the month in my August favourites through but I have been having quite a hard time recently. It has just seemed to be one things after another and I have just been a little down.

To cut an incredibly long story short, I had to have my doggy put to sleep. She was 13 and lived a very long and full life. But one day she was fine and walking miles with me, and the next she was gone. I think it affected me so badly because of how sudden it was. Apparently, she had a tumour that had developed in her nose which was pressing on the brain.

So, since that things just seem to be going downhill. I was doing the garden and my lawnmower set on fire (my fault because the grass was too wet), then my fridge stopped working. So, I had to buy a new fridge/freezer and refill it because all the food had gone off or defrosted.

I don’t want to bore you all with my problems, but some people have been asking and I want to be open and honest with you guys. We all go through low patches and there is nothing wrong with it, it is only human to feel things.

So, it got to a point where I just thought FUCK IT... And I went online and bought lots of things to try and improve my dog awful mood. In the long term, it didn’t really change anything, but it did temporarily put a smile on my face and gave me something else to think about.

When I got the MacBook out I went straight onto Sephora, Selfridges, Harrods, Debenhams, House of Fraser and Boots, just to try and find things that I could waste my money on. And here is what I bought...

1) Tom Ford Lipstick in Indian Rose

I love this lipstick. I knew that I wanted a Tom Ford lipstick, I think for the packaging more than anything else. But I am so glad that I did and that I went for this shade. On me this is similar to my natural lip colour but with a little pinker to it. For a nice sunny day this is my lipstick of choice!

2) MAC Eyeshadows – Satin Taupe & Era

I am a sucker for MAC Eyeshadows and whenever I put an order into anywhere I will always tend to buy a couple of eyeshadows. I am currently building up my own MAC Pro Palettes and they are really coming on well so these are just two extra shades to put in there!

3) Nars Creamy Concealer

I think this is a concealer that doesn’t need an introduction. Everybody in the world owns the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer so I had to jump on the bandwagon. It is incredible and literally as the name suggests it is so nice and creamy. My new favourite concealer!

4) Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

I love this foundation so much. I was very unsure about it when I bit the bullet and added it to my basket because I have oily skin and oily and luminosity just tend not to go together very well. But, this foundation is stunning and lasts amazingly on the skin. It looks just as good at 9pm as it did at 7am when I first applied it!

5) Makeup Forever Ultra HD Concealer

I am such a sucker for concealers so whenever one comes out I have to try it. I have always loved the Makeup Forever range and the HD products have been incredible so I am really excited to give this concealer a good try!

6) Makeup Forever Pro Bronze Fusion

I got this bronzer because I had previously seen Jaclyn Hill using it and saying that she loved it. If she loves, it I know that I am going to love it. I have used this a couple times and it is an amazing bronzer and it suits my olive skin tone just perfectly!

7) Morphe M527 Brush

I got this brush to apply my contour and bronzer. The brush I have been currently using for bronzer is so battered now and it literally scratches the makeup you have on your face back off! This is really nice and soft and it feels really nice when I use it.

8) Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows

This is a product that I have wanted to try since Charlotte Tilbury herself first announced it. Anything that makes the brows appear thicker and fuller appeals to me straight away. I am obsessed with it. I wasn’t sure if it was going to be a little gimmicky, but it is my new favourite thing in my makeup bag!

There will be full reviews going up on all products mentioned soon on my blog so be sure to keep an eye out for them!

Please feel free to leave me any comments below and I will be more than happy to get back to you!

  1. Sorry to hear you've been through a bad time. Something similar happened with my cat, a few years ago now, and it really is heart-breaking. As you say, treating yourself doesn't make the problem go away, but it does give you a little lift which can help a lot. You got some lovely things - I really want a Tom Ford lipstick and that shade is one a lot of people seem to love! x

    1. I wasn't sure whether to get one for the longest time, solely down to the price. But now I am so glad that I did!
