YSL Touche Eclat Concealer Review

I am going to be honest with you right from the off here. I bought this product purely for the very pretty gold packaging. This product just looks so gorgeous and I know it sounds ridiculous, but when I saw it sitting there on the counter and knew I needed to buy it and try it out for myself. I had also been reading Vogue the day before I went shopping and picked this up and there was an advertisement with Cara Delevingne’s using it, so that just completely swayed me and I knew that I had to try it because I need every single thing that Queen Cara uses and is paid to promote!

Now onto the actual product itself. As the name of this review suggests this post is going to be all about the YSL Touché Éclat Concealer/Highlighter. Other than the amazing packaging I bought this concealer/highlighter because I had heard that it bounces light away from dark circles and that is a winner in my book straight away before I even put it on my face. I have also seen this no so many YouTube videos over the past couple of months and every single time somebody has used this, I have wanted to pick one up.

What I like to do is apply my primer, foundation and concealer all over my face and then I blend it in using my damp Beauty Blender or a Morphe M439. Then once my foundation and everything is in place, I will go in with this YSL Touché Eclat just one the areas where I feel could benefit from a touch more concealer and brightening. This is usually my under eyes, down the bridge of the nose, centre of the chin and the middle of my forehead. Then I pat that into my skin using the same Beauty Blender that I use for my foundation!

Now for some things that I liked about this product, other than the packaging. The product itself I found to be creamy but not too heavy and it blended into near nothingness but that glow, and radiance were left behind on the skin. I found that this did lighten and brighten the areas underneath my eyes, but the darkness wasn’t in anyway covered, that is why I like to pair this with a traditional concealer. I would say that this is a pretty sheer coverage, but that is exactly how it is marketed. If you are looking for something to conceal and hide, this isn’t the product for you.

What I love to do with this product is throw it in my handbag. Towards the end of the day, when my makeup and skin is looking a touch dull, I like to go in with this product to brighten my skin. Even if I apply this on top of my powder and blend it in using my ring finger, it just uplifts my makeup a touch and makes my makeup look like a fresh application. It is great if I am heading out with the girls straight for some cocktails from work!

My only negative about this YSL Touché Eclat in my opinion is that it seems to run out very quickly. I don’t use this as a concealer, I only use it to illuminate, which means that I use the smallest amount of product and it seems to last me not even two minutes. I looked online and it shows that there is around 2.5ml of product, which is an absolutely miniscule amount compared to some other products that are on the market.

Overall, I have to admit that I really do love this product and it is one that I continue to reach for time and time again. I see online that hell of a lot of people like to use this as a concealer, which in my opinion it isn’t. This is a great illuminator and it is wonderful at brightening the skin. I will leave a link to this product down below in case you want to check it out for yourself. 1. I really want to try this concealer! I've always admired the packaging from afar as it is quite an expensive product but maybe I will just have to give it a try one day x
