Dupes - Highend vs Highstreet

As we all know by now, I buy far too much makeup. I always look into products before I spend my hard earned cash on something because I hate buying something and then it just sitting in my drawer until I throw it out.

I own both high end and high streets brands and I love having a mix around to see what is best. Over the last few years I have started to realise that drugstore makeup has really been stepping its game up a little and the quality can match that of some higher end brands. I wanted to do a little dupe list to let you know some of the products that I have tried out that to me seem to match pretty similarly. So, without any more rambling I will get into it.

As normal with all of my posts if you have any questions about anything that I have mentioned just leave it in the comments section below and I will get right back to you. Also, I will leave links down below in case you want to check anything I have mentioned out.

1)             Bobbi Brown Stick Foundation vs Maybelline Stick Foundation

I love a stick foundation. They are so handy especially when it comes to travelling. I have owned the Bobbi Brown foundation stick for so long and I have nearly every colour of it. I reach for it every day. I didn’t think I would be able to find something to match this but then I tried the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick. They both glide on really nicely and have great coverage. I would say the Bobbi Brown is a little more pigmented but it isn’t anything hugely noticeable, also with the price difference this is easy to accept.

2)          MAC Studio Fix Fluid vs Maybelline Fit Me Foundation

In my first ever MAC order from years ago I ordered the MAC Studio Fix Fluid and I have been using it on and off ever since. The coverage is great and it just seems to suit my skin really nicely. I couldn’t find anything to match this for such a long time. Then I tried the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation and it looked exactly like the MAC one did. The Maybelline Fit Me Foundation is a very lightweight formula, more so than the MAC Studio Fix Fluid, and that does feel better. But, the MAC does over a slightly fuller coverage finish, but that is only slight.

3)          Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation vs L’Oréal Lumi Foundation

For this one I actually owned the L’Oréal Lumi Foundation first. I had been using it for such a long time and I really liked it. I am an oily person so I usually stay away from luminous foundations but when this was set with powder it looked glowing but not overly oily. That is the main thing that I liked about this foundation. Then I bought this Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation and I fell in love with this even more. They are super similar; I would go as far as saying that I can’t find any differences. I tend to go more towards the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation but I think that is more because of the brand and the stunning packaging than the quality of the product!

4)          Benefit Porefessional Primer vs NYX Pore Filler Primer

I am an oily person so a pore minimising primer is almost essential for me. I think like most people when I think of a pore minimising primer I go straight to the Benefit Porefessional primer. I loved it and I am sure I have gone through about 12 tubes of this since I purchased it for the first time. Then one day I was scrolling through Pinterest and came across the NYX Pore Filler Primer. It said that it was a direct dupe for the Benefit Porefessional so I thought it was definitely worth a go. This does exactly what it says on the tin, it fills pores and makes the skin look much smoother and perfected and I found that my makeup stuck really well. This is a very good dupe!

5)          Nars Creamy Concealer vs Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

I have been obsessed with my Nars Creamy Concealer since day 1. I bought and it and immediately fell in love with it. The product is super creamy and blendable which stops it from creasing up around the eyes. I also found that a little goes a really long way because of how pigmented the product is. I was going through these like wildfires so I thought I would try the Maybelline Fit Me. I got this in boots and I have been in love with it since. It is more or less the exactly the same as the Nars. Even the packaging is super similar. If you like either of these concealers I would recommend trying the other out because honestly they are like carbon copies of each other.

That is, it for my dupes for now but more posts will be coming up in the future. I would love to hear what dupes you have tried so make sure to leave me any comments below!
