Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Review

I have been on the hunt for a good drugstore foundation for such a long time. Most of the foundations that I have in my collection are high end and to be frank they cost me an arm and a leg. I don’t mind spending my money on a good foundation as long as the product is worth the money. But, I think that it would be really good to have a really good quality drugstore foundation in my collection that I can use on a daily basis instead of having to bust out my Chanel Perfection Lumiere. That is what has lead my to finally try out the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation which has been so spoken about recently.

This has been on my list to try for quite a while because it is a very popular foundation at the moment. Whenever a product is really spoken about I want to try it out for myself, but I had only heard good things about this foundation and that is why I had to get my hands on it. So, I took myself off into Boots one day and wandered over to the Maybelline counter. When I was stood at the shelves, I couldn’t help but notice that there wasn’t a diverse shade range. The shade that I picked up in this foundation was actually the darkest shade that they stock in Boots which I think is pretty poor considering that I am a medium/tanned skin tone. Anyway, let’s get into the review…

First up, as normal I want to talk about the packaging. I like to talk about packaging when I get a new product because to me, I make a split decision about a product from the moment that I first see the packaging. The packaging of this Maybelline Fit Me Foundation I think is very nice. I think the packaging itself is very similar to other high-end foundations that I have bought. I also really like that it comes with a pump because that is great for travelling with. I don’t know whether it is plastic or glass, but I think it is very nice, maybe not great for travelling with because it is pretty bulky.

The reason why I tend to opt for high end foundations over drugstore alternatives is because I have quite awkward skin and I find that as a whole high-end foundations tend to work better for me. I have a combination skin type, so I am oily in the centre of the face and I am dry on my forehead, so my foundations really go get put through their paces. But, I have to admit that this Maybelline Fit Me Foundation really does hold up well compared to some of the more expensive alternatives. When I have been wearing this and when my makeup is finished with concealers and powders, I feel like my skin doesn’t look any different to if I was wearing a £40 foundation.

I would say that the coverage of this foundation is medium to full. I am sure that everybody knows that I am a massive fan of full coverage foundations and I think that this offers more than enough coverage for a daily basis. I need my foundations to cover everything from my hyperpigmentation on my cheeks and even the darkness underneath my eyes. This foundation seems to do that really effortlessly. I do go in with a secondary layer in the areas where my pigmentation is dark, but it covers everything with ease and that is one of the reasons why I am really enjoying this foundation.

One of the biggest selling points with this foundation in my opinion must be the consistency of this foundation. It is lovely and lightweight and blends onto the skin like nothing at all. As I pump this out on the back of my hand, you can see straight away that it is incredibly runny, but the best thing is that it is still full coverage. Usually I associate lightweight and runny foundations with being pretty sheer such as the MAC Face and Body, but that isn’t the case at all with this Maybelline Fit Me Foundation.

I don’t really know if there is much more that I can say about this product. I have been loving this because it is lovely and lightweight, it blends into the skin really easily, it lasts well and has a lovely amount of coverage. My one issue with this is that there isn’t a vast colour range available but from looking online it does seem like this is something they are working on at the moment. I will leave a link to this down below in case you want to check it out for yourself. Make sure to leave me a comment and let me know if you have tried this foundation and what you thought about it!
