My All TIme Favourite Foundations

For today’s blog post, I am going to be sharing with you some of the foundations that I cannot put down or get away from at the moment. I am sure that it is no secret to the people who have been reading my blog for some time, but I am somewhat of a foundation hoarder. Some people go crazy for new eyeshadow palettes, for me it is all about foundations. I used to have to buy a new foundation the moment that it was released, even if I knew it wouldn’t really work for me, just to say that I had tried it. That just resulted in having a drawer in my vanity that was just jam packed with foundations that I didn’t really like or use. So, after the New Year, I decided that it was time to sit down and sort through all of them.

Once I had my clear out, I more than halved the number of foundations in my ridiculous collection and I still think that I could probably part ways with some of those that are left. But, while I was sorting through everything it made me realise what foundations I really loved and it also helped me to discover some of my old favourites that had been lurking at the back of my foundation drawer. So, I thought that today is as good a time as any to share with you the foundations that I have been loving at the moment and what I have been reaching for the most through the whole of January. Anyway, without any more rambling, here are my favourite foundations…

I had to make sure that this was the first foundation that I mentioned in this blog post. I am completely in love with this foundation and I really cannot get enough of it. If you have read my blog for some time already you will know that I have been in a long running love affair with the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation for years now, but it is safe to say that this foundation has well and truly taken over and I cannot put it down. I bought this Nars All Day Luminous WeightlessFoundation completely on a whim in the black Friday sales, I had always been intrigued by it, but I didn’t think it would work with my oily skin, but for the discounted price I just couldn’t say no.

I haven’t even uploaded a full review of this foundation yet, but I thought that I would mention it in this post because it is truly out of this world. Since the New Year, I have worn this foundation more or less every single day. What I love about this foundation and what makes me keep going back for more is the lovely level of coverage, and how lightweight it feels on the skin. It is those two things together that make this a great everyday foundation in my opinion. I am going to be uploading a full review of this foundation soon, but I want to see how it works with my skin over a long period of time and make sure that it doesn’t break me out, but so far, so good!

NarsSheer Glow Foundation
I couldn’t do this post without mentioning my little baby. If you have been reading my blog for a while, you will know that I am truly in love with this foundation and I can imagine that you are all sick of me mentioning it all of the time. It took me a really long time before I went ahead and bought this foundation, to start with I didn’t think that it would work for me and my oily skin. It had two words in the title of this foundation that I usually try and steer clear of and they are ‘sheer’ and ‘glow’. For one, I like my foundations to be full coverage, so sheer just isn’t going to work for me. Plus, with my oily skin, usually foundations with glow and luminosity to them just don’t work for me.

I decided to finally buy this foundation and give it a try for myself after loving how it looked whenever people would use it on YouTube. Since I bought my first bottle of this, I have had to buy a replacement looking at nearly 7 times. I have never used a foundation that looks as stunning and makes my skin look so healthy, yet at the same time it has incredible longevity and pairs like a dream with so many different products. I always get so many compliments whenever I wear this foundation and it is that reason why I continuously repurchase it and wear it. If you haven’t tried this foundation before I would highly recommend it.

I feel like the cult classic Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation probably doesn’t need any kind of introduction, especially here on my blog where I have mentioned it so many times before. I was pretty late onto the bandwagon with this product, but I am so glad that I finally got my hands on it. I bought this foundation because my girl Casey Holmes over on YouTube, used to speak about it all of the time and she loved it, so I had to try it out for myself, because whatever she usually likes, works like a dream for me too. I will say that finding my shade was a little bit of a pain in the arse, simply because there are so many shades to choose from, but now that I have it, I really love it.

Compared to the two Nars foundations that I have just mentioned, I will say that this is quite a heavy feeling foundation, but that doesn’t bother me in the slightest, because everything about this is just incredible. The shade of this, once I got matched is just ideal to my skin and my colouring. The longevity of the foundation is incredible, and I know that it will stay in place all day long and I won’t suffer from a makeup meltdown. Also, this foundation used to be known for giving bad flashback, but apparently the formula has changed, and I know for a fact that I don’t have this issue anymore.  If I ever have a special occasion, this is the foundation that I wear because I know it will last flawlessly all-day long.

I am sure that if you are a beauty lover, you will have heard of this foundation over the past two years since it has been released. From the moment that I first saw this foundation been mentioned all over the internet, I knew that I had to get it and try it out for myself. I had seen hell of a lot of mixed reviews about this online, so I decided that the best thing to do was just to try it out for myself and see how it worked for me and my skin. From the moment I got this through the post and tried it out, I knew that I loved it and it would be a contender for my favourite foundation. This is another product that I imagine that you are bored to tears of me mentioning time and time again.

For a stick foundation, this is the smoothest and easiest foundation to apply in the world. All I have to do is simply scribble a couple of lines onto my face and then I buff it in with my Morphe M439 and it looks so incredibly perfect on my skin. This is a full coverage foundation stick that can be very easily built up and no matter how intense you make the coverage, it never looks cakey or thick on the skin. I also want to touch on that Hourglass have such a great shade range for this foundation with so many different shades and undertones available. I know that you don’t really get much product for your money, but for how much I love this foundation, I really don’t mind.

I have absolutely no idea what kept me from buying this Too Faced Born This Wayfoundation for such a long time, but let me tell you, I wish I had tried it out hell of a lot sooner. I think the reason why I didn’t buy this foundation was because it was constantly being described as a medium coverage foundation and I am more of a full coverage kind of girl. In the end, I was sick of seeing it online and loving how it looked, so I just decided to go for it and try it out for myself. As soon as I saw that Too Faced was now selling on the Debenhams website, I logged straight on and had to treat myself to a bottle of this foundation.

The amazing thing about this foundation is how beautifully light it feels on the skin. I do agree with the claim that it is a medium coverage foundation, but I actually really like that about this foundation, which surprises the hell out of me. The coverage of this product can be built up and I am able to quite confidently hide all of my problem areas using just this foundation and no other concealers on top. This is a very natural looking foundation and never when I wear this does my skin look heavy or feel like it is caked up in foundations. If I am going for a heavier kind of makeup look, I will opt for this foundation because I know that my base will look nice and natural.

When this foundation was first released, I have to admit that I wasn’t really that bothered about it to start with. I saw hell of a lot of people using it on YouTube and mentioning it in blogs, but I have to say that it didn’t really captivate me or make me want to try it. It wasn’t until one day when I was browsing on the Debenhams website that I saw this was on special offer, so I decided just to go ahead and give it a try. Much like the Estee Lauder Double Wear, this was a pain in the arse to try and find my shade, but once I did and I actually had the foundation, I have to say that I did really love it.

With this foundation I think that I have found my perfect everyday foundation. This is a lovely and light product, that looks so stunning on the skin. It has a medium coverage, that can be built up. It is a lovely satin finish, that glides on the skin so nice and smoothly. It blends in like a dream whether you use it with a brush or a sponge. I will say that this foundation isn’t great for my oily skin, but with a little blotting through the day and it doesn’t matter to me. I am onto my third tube of this and that is because it is so quick and easy to use.

I have mentioned this MAC Full Coverage Foundation so many times here on my blog that you are all no doubt sick of hearing about it, but it is without a doubt one of the most underrated products out there on the market. I first used this foundation years ago and it came as a recommendation from the lovely Wayne Goss, he used to speak about it all of the time and he completely sold me on it. That must have been around 8 years ago, and I am still completely in love with it. I will either use it every single day and if I don’t use it, I can guarantee you that it will be in my handbag to touch my makeup up if I need to.

The coverage of this foundation is just incredible. It is a lovely and full coverage product, that hides all of my imperfections and hyper-pigmentation with absolutely no issues. I like to take some of this on my Real Techniques Buffing Brush and really work it into the areas where I need it and the coverage and finish is just out of this world. This is an incredibly long-lasting product and it always looks so stunning paired with a whole variety of products. I love reaching for this because I know that my makeup will look flawless all-day long.

This is another foundation that I think is massively underrated and not anywhere near enough people talk about this. I had heard of this foundation for quite a while and I always wanted to try it, but it was one of those products that just seemed to live on my wishlist for a really long time. It wasn’t until I saw Jaclyn Hill using this on her YouTube channel a couple of years back that I instantly went and bought it. If you are looking for a product with ultimate coverage, then this is the product for you. What is amazing about this Cover FX Oil FreeFoundation is not only is the level of pigment really high, it performs so well throughout the day.

This is a full coverage product and I will admit that it is very thick when you are applying it, it has a kind of gel like texture to it. But, when I have this on my face with all of my concealer and powder, it looks so beautiful on the skin. Then when my natural oils start to come out, it looks phenomenal. There isn’t much more that I can really say about this foundation other than it is ultimate coverage in a bottle that I love to reach for when I am having those days when I need to pack on the coverage!

No favourites foundation post would be complete without at least giving a little shout out to the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. I am sure that people who have read my blog for quite some time will know that I have loved this foundation for a very long time indeed. I have used this foundation for years and when I say that, I really do mean that it has been years. I used this Giorgio ArmaniLuminous Silk Foundation long before Kim Kardashian ever made it as popular as it is today. When this all of a sudden turned really popular, I stopped using it as much mainly because I was the same shade as Kim K and it was like gold dust to get the shade I needed.

The thing about this Giorgio Armani Foundation that keeps drawing me back in is the shade of the foundation itself. I do tend to struggle when it comes to finding the perfect foundation shade and I can quite confidently say that it couldn’t really get much better than this. I have an Italian heritage and because of that, I have a very deep/olive complexion, so usually I struggle finding a foundation with the right undertones for me, but I can safely say that this one is just pure perfection. Not to mention that it really does look stunning on the skin and stays looking beautiful all-day long.

So, there you have it, all of my favourite foundations. I know that I do these posts pretty often, but that is because foundation is my favourite makeup product because I love how it can completely transform your face and give you a huge confidence boost. 8. I adore that too faced foundation. It's seriously made from some kind of magic that it can look virtually undetectable on the skin yet provide such good coverage. I'm obsessed with it.
