Clinique Take The Day Off Balm Review

Skincare isn’t something that I have ever really mentioned here on my blog before. To be quite honest, I am a terrible beauty blogger and I have never actually had a skincare routine. My skincare of an evening was going around my face with a couple baby wipes and that would be it. I have never really felt the need to do more, because I have always had really clear skin. Breakouts are something that have never really concerned me, but what did make me think about needing a skincare routine was just the overall appearance of my skin. It just looked a little tired and unhealthy, so I decided to log onto the Boots website and treat myself to some skincare goodies.
Which brings me on nicely to the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm. Now, I thought that my baby wipes did a good job at taking my full face of makeup off, it sure seemed that way from just looking in a mirror. But when I started to use this product, it made me realise just how much product I have actually been leaving on my skin and in my pores by not cleansing my skin properly. It made me feel pretty sick and I have been using this Clinique Cleansing balm ever since.

When I go to take my makeup off, I still initially go in with baby wipes to get the bulk of my makeup off. Then once the majority of my makeup has been removed I will then go in with this Clinique Take the Day Off Balm. I just take a small amount and rub it between my fingers to warm up the product and then I gently massage it into the skin. I am very generous with the product and I really try and work it into the skin so that it gives it a good chance to break down all of the makeup still sat on my skin. I will then go in with a cotton pad to remove the balm from my face. I will then either go in with another product for a second cleanse, then my moisturiser and eye cream.
When I first got this Clinique Balm delivered, I wasn’t entirely sure if I was going to like it. I first took the lid off the product and noticed that it seemed very waxy and quite hard. When I first started to use it, I had to really rub the top layer to get it to break down and become a useable product. Don’t get me wrong though, it really wasn’t a big deal and it didn’t bother me in the slightest. Once that top layer was removed it was a much easier product to use. Now when I reach for this, I tend to dig my finger into it ever so slightly and get a small lump of product and I find that just the smallest bit is more than enough to cleanse all of my face with.
Once the heat from your hands starts to work through the product it turns it more into a milk than a hard wax, which is great for lifting the product from your skin. When I use this product, I feel like my skin is really clean afterwards, there is no after feeling to it other than my skin feeling nice and soft. This is a product that is not abrasive in the slightest, which is just what I expected from Clinique as they are known for their skincare. Another thing that I really like about this cleanser is that it isn’t fragranced like some other skincare that I have been trying out lately. It just feels like a really natural product, which is what I want as part of my skincare routine.
This product really has made me want to try out more by Clinique. I know that every bodies skin works differently, especially when this comes to skincare. But to me, this just did the job that it was meant to do, my skin feels incredible after I use it and you get a decent amount of product for the price of the product. If you have tried this product out before, make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know what you thought about it. I will leave a link to it down below, in case you want to check it out and try it for yourself!

  4. I LOVE THIS STUFF. been using it on and off for a couple years, and I always return back to it! I'm pretty much about the same when it comes to makeup removal, though I use micellar water to get the bulk of it off and then go in with cleansing balm.
