My November Makeup Bag!

Winter is now well and truly amongst us. I love the winter. I feel like I am the only person that actually enjoys it. I admit that it does make it harder to get up in the morning, but I love being able to wear my big chunky knitwear, getting in the house and it being all cosy and lighting candles all over the house. I think this is actually my favourite time of the year!
As much as I like this time of year it puts my skin through hell. It is like my face cannot cope with the change in temperature. I end up going from oily to dry and incredibly dehydrated. So, I have to switch my makeup and my skincare up in order to keep my skin somewhat normal. In this post, I am going to let you know what my go to makeup is for this time of year. These are the things that I just reach for without even thinking about it and if I am having a night away from home then these are the products that I make sure I take with me!

I have tried hell of a lot of moisturisers over the past year and even though I love a lot of them, this Clinique one is the one that I reach for most out of them all. I think it is a mixture of how it looks and makes my skin feel, with the affordable price. I don’t mind paying £100 a tub for my Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream because it really plumps my skin and makes it feel so healthy, but for an everyday product I think this Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser is just perfection!

I have recently retired my Benefit Porefessional Primer. I do still love that primer, don’t get me wrong, but now I need something a little more hydrating and that will make my skin look healthy. I have been using the Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Primer none stop. Even though this doesn’t add a huge amount of moisture into the skin, it does give the skin a lovely sheen and make it look healthy and brighter which is always nice around this time of year. I have heard a lot of people being negative about this because of the price, but for how much I use on a daily basis, I think that this is well worth the price!

Like I said, at this time of year I have dry skin so I make sure that the foundation that I am going to be applying is going to keep my skin hydrated. And that is exactly why I love this foundation, it keeps my skin looking really healthy and most importantly to me, not flaky. I have been using this day in and day out and it has been keeping my skin look somewhat normal. Not to mention that this lasts flawlessly all day long and Nars have such a huge shade range so this foundation is perfect for a whole variety of skin tones.

This for me has pretty much being and all year-round product. I have been using it pretty much each day since I first got it. What I love about this concealer is that it is really full coverage, easy to apply and it blends out flawlessly. It is nice and hydrating on the skin and keeps the under-eye area really nice and plump and healthy looking. It also, lasts all day long and looks so pretty, I can hold my hands up and say that this is the best concealer that I have ever used!

I use and abuse this palette in the cooler months because I find that the shades in it really help to warm up my face. My most used colour in this palette is by far the burnt red shade. I find that when I take this on a big fluffy brush and put it right into the crease that it just pulls my makeup together so well. Normally then I go in with a light matte brown on the lid and if I fancy a little extra pop I will take a small amount of the glitter shade and pat that on top.

6)       Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Finish Powder
Because I have dry skin at this time of year I don’t like to use a setting powder that is too drying on the skin. I like something that will stop my liquids and crèmes from moving but not something that will completely mattify my face and that is what this powder does. I go in with a really big fluffy brush and swirl it in the powder and then just do a light dusting all over the face. I don’t make sure every inch is set because I just don’t want that at this time of year. I just focus this on the centre of the face where I go in with my concealer.

7)       Anastasia Brow Pomade
I was very sceptical about this before I gave it a go because I thought it was going to be very intense and look really waxy on the eyebrows. I quickly realised that it was about how you apply this rather than the products itself. I love to use this with the Anastasia angled brush and it just glides right on and if you use small hair like motions it looks really nice and natural. I have been using this pretty much for 3 years now and I think I would honestly lose my shit if they ever stopped making it.

I have probably splashed this mascara all over my blog for well over a year now and the obsession persists. I love how this stuff is just so jet black and it locks on each lash hair and makes it look really long and thick. When I wear this mascara, I can actually get away with wearing false lashes, which for me is a big thing because I wear them every single day without fail. Plus, it is just a really nice little touch of luxury with the incredible packaging.

9)       Dior Poison Perfume
Everybody on the planet knows that I am obsessed with my Chanel No5 and even though that is still at the top of my all-time favourites list, this is my new winter favourite. The reason why I am loving this so much is because it is a fruity smell but quite strong and musky at the same time. It reminds me of my Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir but not quite as intense which makes it more wearable for hell of a lot more people. I can see a bottle of this being on my shelf for a very long time. Plus, with it being by Dior it is a lovely little bit of luxury for those damp and cold mornings!

I have tried hell of a lot of Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks and this by a longshot is my favourite. This is a really great neutral shade for my skintone. What I love about these Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks is that even though they are a matte lipstick they are really comfortable on the lips and last for a very long time. I never find these overly drying and when I layer this with a little lip balm it just makes it so perfect. Not to mention that the shade is really nice and mauve and perfect for this time of year.
There you have it, my go to winter products. Make sure to leave me a comment below and let me know what your go to cold weather products are. I will leave a link down below to everything that I have mentioned in case you want to check them out!

  1. The Clinique moisturiser has been on my 'to-try' list for EVER. I can't wait to give it a whirl... hopefully soon! :) I, too, like moisturising products but my current winter favourite has got to be The Body Shop Hemp Lip Balm! xx
