My Everyday Makeup Look

On a daily basis, I like to keep my makeup looking really soft and natural. I don’t ever go very wild with my makeup, even when I am going out, I always just go for very classic and basic looks. On a daily basis, for running errands and going to work, I tend to do my makeup in about 15 minutes, so none of the steps are very complex, the aim of the game for me is just to get a really nice flawless base that hides most of my imperfections. So, most of my day to day makeup looks consist of a nice full coverage foundation, natural eye look, with slight bronzing and contouring.
For when I go to work I am trying to ween myself off wearing makeup all together. I used to go full glam to work when I first started, I wanted to set an impression and look nice. Now that I have been there over 5 years and I am more than comfortable with all of the people that I work with, the amount of makeup that I am wearing is slowly declining, and hopefully I will soon be sat there barefaced. I have gone into work quite a few times now without makeup and everybody has said nothing but lovely things, I guess it is just my confidence. Anyway, here are my everyday makeup products.

My oily ass skin loves this primer. I have been using a wearing this for going on two years and even though I have tried out other primers, nothing has really come close to it. I wouldn’t say that this primer controls my oils, it is oil free, but I wouldn’t really say that it is mattifying. But, what I love about this primer and what keeps making me go back to it is how it smooths my skin out. I have quite large pores around my nose and my chin and this just seems to blur them out like a filter would. I will say that this is a very silicone base primer, which personally I don’t mind but I know some people do have an issue with it. I find that this stuff just makes my makeup last really long and I don’t get anything breaking up around my nose or forehead which is where I normally have issues.

Without a shadow of a doubt, this is my most used foundation without fail. What I love about this is that it is lovely and lightweight on the face. It has a medium coverage, which is just about enough for me, but where I need it such as on my cheeks where I have freckles and sun damage I can build it up. When I have this on my skin it really doesn’t feel like I am wearing anything, which is great for when I am sat at work for 8 hours. Everything about this foundation just makes it a really high quality and comfortable foundation for wearing day in and day out. I was sceptical about buying this to start with because I have seen mixed reviews on it, but I am so glad that I just went ahead and bought it because it is one of the best foundations that I have ever worn.

When I first got this concealer, I was quite sceptical about it because I just didn’t get how Nars could possibly top the Radiant Creamy Concealer that I have been loving for years, but I have to admit it, within a couple times of using this stuff, I was in love with it. My favourite thing about this concealer is how it seems to blur out my pores and make my skin look almost airbrushed. I have really enlarged pores around my nose and this just seems to camouflage them and make my skin look like porcelain. I will say that when I have gone in a little heavy with this directly underneath my eyes, I have had a little creasing, but that is down to me and my heavy hand, other than that, this has been a straight up winner for me.

4)       RCMA No Colour Powder
I know that I have mentioned this so many times, but I love this stuff. Being an oily skin gal, I need to set my foundation and concealer day in and day out. I have tried so many setting powders over the years and nothing has been quite as good as this for a daily basis. This locks my face into place all day long, it controls my oils well and looks really nice and matte. I will admit that this powder isn’t great for photography because you can get a white flashback, but when I go to work and I am sat behind my desk, I know for a fact that I’m not going to be having my photograph taken. Plus, the value for money with this stuff compared to something like the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder is just incredible!

5)       YSL Shocking Mascara
I feel like this mascara doesn’t need an introduction here on my blog because I have mentioned it that many times over the past year. This mascara makes my eyelashes super jet black and each hair looks twice as long. I use this pretty much every single day, I tend to go between this and the Maybelline Sensational mascara, but the effect that this gives my eyelashes is incredible. Not to mention that this is just a really luxurious product and feels really nice to apply. From the wand, it does feel very slick and wet when I am applying it, but within a couple of minutes it dries down and sets like cement around each of my eyelashes. This is a pricey product, but I think that it is well worth it and it has made me want to try out other YSL mascaras.

I have been using this stuff for years and the reason why I wear it near enough daily is because it is so quick and easy to use. I have other brow products in my incredibly vast collection, and some that I prefer the look of more, but nothing works and gets my brows looking finished quite as fast as this Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade does. What I love about this is how creamy and pigmented it is. I take this on an angled brush and I map out the shape of my brows and define the shape. I will then start willing the area in with small stroke motions and it just makes my brows look really natural and feather and they are literally done within a couple of minutes. Anything that I can use that gets the job done super quickly is perfect in my eyes.

7)       Benefit Hoola Bronzer
It took me a while to go ahead and buy this bronzer and then even longer to fall in love with it. Whenever I saw other people using this in YouTube videos it always looked so stunning, which is why I wanted to give it a go. The only thing for me is that the colour just isn’t very deep for my skin tone. It does add a very slight and natural colour to my face, which I have realised is perfect for the daily and when I am at work, but it is just so different to my normal bronzing products. I like to go in with this on my huge ass Tom Ford Bronzing Brush and it just makes me look like I have some really natural bronzing to the skin. This is also the most perfect product for nose contouring because it is matte and not overly deep. I would love to see Benefit do a Hoola Deep, as part of their Hoola range, along with the original and the new Hoola Lite.

What is life without contour? If I don’t do some form of contouring I literally feel like a whale and that my face is as round as a football. I love this Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Brush because it is just so quick and easy to use. When I pair this with my Nars Ita Brush, my contour is finished and in place within a number of seconds. This is just such a rich and creamy contouring product and it blends out so seamlessly and never looks harsh on the skin. I have the shade Deep, which is just incredibly for my colouring. Even though this is a deep contouring product, I feel like the undertones are still ashy and perfect for getting a natural contoured look.

When I was first going to buy this blusher, I really wasn’t sure about it. I am a bronzer girl at heart and I have just never really reached for blusher, but I couldn’t deny how stunning this blusher by Charlotte Tilbury looked. I only have this one in the shade Sex on Fire and I adore it. For my tanned complexion, this is just the perfect shade for my skin tone. It really does make me look like I have a natural flush and not just piles of blusher on my face. This “nipple” blusher as they call it, really has converted me and I feel like my makeup looks so much softer and prettier when I reach for this. It has even made me want to try more Charlotte Tilbury blushes, which can only prove that they are really good because at £35 a pop, they are far from cheap!
10)   Nivea Lip Balm
On the daily, I don’t tend to wear much lip product. I have painfully dry lips, so on my weekdays I usually let my lips try and repair themselves a touch using my trusty Nivea Lip Balm. I have tried out so many different lip balms over the years and this is the only one that I have found actually makes a difference and helps my lips. This just leaves them feeling really plumped and super hydrated. I have these things scattered all over the place, on my vanity, in my handbag, my car and even on my desk at work, just so that I always have one close by. I just don’t feel the need for lip liner and lipstick when I am just sat at my desk all day, and this stuff adds a nice sheen to my lips and makes them look really pretty.
There you have it, my everyday makeup products for my go to look. I wear this look all of the time because it is just so easy to apply/. The products seem to work really well with each other and last flawlessly all day on my face. I like to reach for these products again and again because I know that no matter what I throw at it, it is just going to work really well for me and when I get reliable products like that, I stick with them.
Anyway, I will link down below to everything that I have mentioned in case you want to check it out. Also, if you want to see my full review on anything that I have mentioned, just click the name of the product above to be taken to that page. Make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know what your go to everyday makeup products are.

  1. I really want to try the Born This Way foundation, so many people say good things about it. I totally get what you mean about not wanting to wear too much makeup to work anymore. Sitting all day at your desk having to worry about your lippie smudging or whether you're starting to look shiny or not is just not worth it haha xx
