Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette Review

I have always said here on my blog that I am not a big fan of readymade eyeshadow palettes, but I just needed to try this Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette out. I was looking into the new Anastasia Subculture Palette to start with but with how much drama there has been surrounding this palette, I thought that I would just go with the Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette because it is tried and tested and even now around 2 years after it was first released people still tend to go mad for it.
I have said it before but I don’t normally go for complete eyeshadow palettes like this because I tend to just see them as a little bit of a waste. There are always colours that you don’t like and you never end up using. Then there are shades that you fall completely in love with and you use every single scrap of them and then you have to repurchase a whole new palette, including the shades you aren’t that keen on, just to get the shades that you do like. Which is why I tend to stick with my MAC Pro Eyeshadow Palette that I have loving created over the past couple of years because it only has shades in it that I truly love.

But, when this Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette came out, I could not deny that it was so stunning. The colour range is just so stunning and there is such a pretty mix of different colours. Plus, I feel like everybody in the blogging world has tried this out except for me, so I had to go for it and try it out to try and find out what all of the hype was about. I will say this, when I got this through the post, I was not disappointed with it and I have been using it near enough daily ever since.
I don’t want to make this post really long, because it isn’t really needed and I am sure that most of you have already tried this out over the past couple of years, so I will just touch on the main things. The first thing that I feel needs to be mentioned is the packaging. I knew that this was a blush pink palette, but when I got it through I never expected it to be a textured suede/velvet kind of feel. Even though to me it is a nice addition, I know that if I threw this into my makeup bag if I was going away for the evening it would look a little dirty in no time at all!
Not onto the shadows themselves. As you can see from the images of the palette, the colours are just to die for. All of them are really pretty and wearable. I’m not a fan of shades that are massively out there because I am a very neutral kind of person, so this is the ideal palette for me. The shadows are really creamy and blendable. I have used every single colour in the palette and I have found every single one of them to be really pigmented, have great colour pay off and blend out like a dream. And, when it comes to an eyeshadow palette there really isn’t anything more than you could want.

For a daily basis, I like to take the shade Raw Sienna into the crease as a nice transition shade and then I will deepen it up a little with a touch of Warm Taupe. Then on top of the eye lid I will go in with Antique Bronze and pack that on using my finger to get the most colour pay off. I then normally take the same blending brush as before that I used the shade Raw Siena on and just run that over everything to make sure it all blends together really nicely. Then on a pencil brush I take Warm Taupe and blend that into the lower lash line.
I will leave this blog post here for now, I just wanted to let you guys know really briefly about this palette because I have been really enjoying it. I will leave a link to this palette down below in case you want to check it out. Also, make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know if you have tried this palette and what you thought about it!

  1. I want to try this palette so bad but I think the light colors are just to light for my skin tone so I ordered a dupe for this to kind of try it on for a while. They say the dupe is really spot on an the quality is similar ... wish me luck!
