My Favourite Lipsticks

I have so many lipsticks in my collection. For my lipstick is just one of them products that I seem to hoard, right up there with my extensive foundation collection. I just love how one little swipe of lipstick and it can completely change how your makeup looks. The only issue with it is that I very rarely make my way through a whole lipstick and a lot of them end up getting wasted, and I hate to see makeup go to waste!
But, I have some gems in my collection that are my favourites. These are the ones that I will constantly go to without even thinking about it. I know that when I use these that my lipstick is going to look really nice and even, it is going to last and that I am going to love the colour. All of the lipsticks that I am going to tell you about I am on my 2nd tube of it or more, which is very good going for a lipstick!
So, here are my 5 favourite lipsticks…

I know I am probably going to get told off by some people for including this pricey ass lipstick in this blog post but I really do need to mention it. Before I got this, I didn’t think that a lipstick could ever be worth £42 or however much I paid for this. It was last summer when I was feeling pretty down and all I wanted to do was just splurge some money, so I bought this lipstick and I have loved it ever since. The colour is out of this world. The consistency is creamy and moisturising on the lips, but it is really pigmented and it stays put incredibly well. Without trying this lipstick I could never think that a lipstick could be worth this kind of money, but without a doubt this really is!
2)       MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick
This is a lipstick that needs no introduction. This is one of them classic products that I feel just about everybody has in their makeup collation. I feel like it is pretty much a rite of passage for people to own this lipstick. I can remember when I was about 18 I went into MAC and I swatched it and I just fell in love with it and I am pretty sure that I wore it for about a year straight with no break for anything else. This to me is very similar to the MAC Whirl which I am going to mention later on, but it is just a touch lighter so it is great for getting a nice gradient to the lips and not just have them as one flat colour. This is just a stunning colour and I can’t find any more to say about it other than how much I love it.
I wanted this lipstick purely for the name of it. The whole Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips range is named after and inspired by celebrities. So, when I saw that one of them was named after Cindy Crawford I knew that I had to give it a go. I have loved Cindy Crawford since I was a little girl. I have always loved reading Vogue, even when I was really little I would buy it and read it and see all of the stunning models from the 90’s. Cindy was the top of my list and this lipstick is everything that I imagine that she would wear. It is just such a nice mauve/brown shade that just screams nineties at you. I have even converted my mum to loving this shade and I had to out and buy her one for herself!
4)       MAC Whirl Lipstick
This is such a talked about lipstick, especially after Kylie Jenner expressed her love for it. I think it pretty much sold out everywhere and people were selling them on eBay for about £50 which is just craziness. This to me is just a lovely rose colour that I wear when I want to go a little deeper with my lips but not a full on red or brown. It is ideal for creating that popular 90’s grunge kind of look. I have had one of these in my collection since I was about 16 and considering I am now 23 I think that shows just how much I love it. Plus, with it being by MAC you know it is going to be a quality product. This is a matte shade and MAC’s mattes can be quite drying, but make sure to apply a balm and you will be good to go!
Normally when a new product comes out I give it a few weeks before I buy it just to make sure that I really want it. For this lipstick, I think I waited about 20 minutes before I bought it. In that 20 minutes, I tried to convince myself that I didn’t really need it, I obviously caved pretty quickly, and I don’t regret it one little bit. This shade pretty much matches my lips exactly which just makes it really perfect for everyday use. It just gives me your lips but better shade and I love it. I keep this in my handbag at all times so that it is close by when I just want to apply a little slick. If this lipstick is still available because it was a limited-edition shade, I would highly recommend trying to pick one up!
There you have it, my 5 go to lipsticks. I love every single one of these, from the colour of them, right down to the texture of them. If you are in the market for a good neutral lipstick I would highly recommend any of these lipsticks. They are just so stunning and my absolute everyday shades. I would just say have a look online at some swatches to see them how they look on other skin tones and see how they are for you!
As normal with all of my blog posts I will leave a link below to all of the items that I have mentioned in case you want to take a gander at them. Leave me a comment down below and let me know what your favourite lipsticks are!

  7. The Velvet Teddy is beautiful- always sold out when I go to MAC but probably because it's such a wonderful color. I think splurging like on the Tom Ford lipstick is completely okay, if it's once in a while. Plus, when the quality is so good it's worth it!
