MAC Blush in Melba Review

Here is the latest addition to my MAC Pro Blush Palette. If you have been to my blog before, you will know that I am in the process of creating my very own MAC Pro Blusher Palette. I have never been a huge fan of blushers because I always tend to go towards bronzers rather than blushes. But, I really wanted to create a palette that I could reach for when I did want to add a pop of colour to my look. Plus, I’m not a huge fan of pre-made makeup palettes, because there are always shades that you don’t use and end up wasting, so I thought that by creating my own palette, I will use every shade and just replace them as and when I need them.
I knew that I wanted a new colour for my palette so I went into my local MAC store and had a play around with the shades that they have and decided that my next blusher purchase was going to be Melba. There were quite a few that seemed to swatch really nicely that I wanted, but this one just seemed to stand out to me and I thought it would work the best for me. I have seen this shade mentioned so much all over the internet and it seems to be one of those really cult classic MAC products. Plus, this colour seemed to really compliment my naturally tanned olive skin tone, because most of the time, pink shades can look a little too much on my colouring.

As most of you will know, my all-time favourite blusher is the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic in the shade Sex on Fire. I use that product more or less day in and day out and I wanted something that was a little cheaper to wear on a daily basis, and that is what the MAC Melba is to me. It gives just a really nice and natural flush to the face that looks really pretty and is just subtle enough to get away with wearing every day. This blush to me really does give the illusion of having a nice and natural flush to the face, rather than having a stark look of heavy blusher.
For those of you who don’t know the MAC Melba blusher is a lovely pinky peach colour. It is quite a subdued colour, it isn’t too bright or too pale, it just sits perfectly in the middle of the two. I have found that my favourite way to apply this blusher to get a really nice and natural look is to apply the Melba blusher using my Morphe E4 brush and then I go over everything including my blush, contour, bronzer and highlight using a clean MAC 187 brush to blend everything together again and it just helps to make everything look super seamless.

I won’t go into this too much, because at the end of the day it is just a blusher, but I just wanted to let you guys know about this blusher because it is such a stunning colour and I am really enjoying wearing it. It has quickly become one of my go to makeup products for everyday use. I feel like when I go in with this blusher it just really helps to pull the look together and I feel much more finished and polished. I will leave a link down below to this product in case you want to check it out. Make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know what some of your favourite blushers are!
