My Autumn To Do List

I can’t believe that we are heading into autumn already. I have had such a good summer, I really don’t want it to end. Not to mention that I hate going to and coming home from work when it I dark, it just seems to put me in such a funky mood. I guess the good part about us moving into Autumn is that we are getting ever closer to Christmas and me buying my own house and they are really keeping me going and motivated!
So, I thought that I would share with you some of the things that I am wanting to do this autumn. Like I said earlier, I tend to get a little mardy at this time of year so I want to force myself to leave the house a little more and make some changes in order to make me just a touch less miserable. I guess miserable is the wrong word, but I am most definitely mardy!
1)       Take Martha on some big walks before the bad weather hits
I love to walk my little Martha. We can go for miles. In the summer, we would just get in the car, take off for the day, park up and then just get out and walk until my legs couldn’t carry us any further. Before the bitter cold weather moves in over the next couple of months I want to go out and go on some nice big walks with her. She really looks forward to them and so do I, it is some us time away from the house and I can’t wait for more!

2)       Plan a night out for my birthday
Like I said in my August favourites post. I am shitting myself about turning 23. I feel like it is just such a grown-up age where you need to start getting your shit together. Me and my boyfriend have been saving like crazy people this year trying to get our deposit together to buy our first house, so we have agreed that for my birthday we are going to have a big last blow out before we have boring adult responsibilities!
3)       Update my winter wardrobe
I feel like it is about time that I update my winter wardrobe. This year I am wanting more jumper dresses with tights. I may even update my thigh high boot game and finally treat myself to a new pair of Stuart Weitzman boots because they are so nice and warm and are like a god send when it gets colder. I also want some nice statement coats so that I can wear my standard all black outfits but still look sassy as fuck every day!
4)       Introduce autumn into my house
In the summer, I freshened up my home for the warmer months and now I feel like I need to reign it back in and make it more autumn/winter appropriate. Gone will be the lighter drapes and back up will be my big thick curtains. The throws will be back out on the sofas and beds and the house will be a fire hazard with the number of candles that I am going to have scattered around. I just think by making it more cosy for when I get in from work, it won’t make me as grumpy that it is already dark outside!
5)       See more of my friends and family
Like I said earlier, at this time of the year I can be pretty reclusive. I hate leaving the house and if it means that I have to change out of my hoody and my leggings then 99% of the time you can guarantee that I am going to turn down any invitation that I am given. This year I am going to try and say yes to things more and make more of an effort with the people that I love. I think it has hit me about how fast life is going by and I really want to spend more time with the people that mean the most to me!
That is my autumn to do list. I am really going to try and make a conscious effort to do it, I will keep you posted on it though and let you know if it actually happens. I just think that as the weather starts to change, we need to actively try and keep ourselves going with that same buzz that we had through the summer!
Make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know what you want to do now the seasons are changing and we are heading into Autumn!

  3. Good idea to have a big blowout birthday, enjoy yourself! I also am trying to go on lots of long walks with Elsie at the moment before it gets too miserable outside!

    1. I said that, but were not really getting much nice weather at the moment!
We went on a walk yesterday morning and got that wet that Martha was shivering when we got in, I even had to make her a cup of tea and a slice of toast!
