Revisited: Chanel Perfection Lumier Foundation

I am sure that the Chanel Perfection Lumier was the first Chanel beauty product that I had ever bought. I can remember going up to the counter in Boots and been terrified. All of the women on the counter looked immaculate and looked down their noses at little 15-year-old me wandering up to their fancy counter. From that day on I have ordered it online because I never want to feel like that while spending my money.
Anyway, horrible experience aside, I fell completely in love with this foundation. I wasn’t sure about it to start with because I thought it would be just be a rubbish foundation that was overpriced because of the brand name that was printed on the bottle. I was wrong and I completely fell for this foundation. I am sure that I used this religiously for years on end without even wanting to try something else out.
This has just been another one of them products that I have used on and off for ages, every now again and again if I dig to the back of my drawer I will try this out but I haven’t used it consistently for a really long time. So, I thought it was about time that I give it another shot for a while.

Now when I am writing this post I have used it for about 3 days in a row and I am obsessed. Why I ever stopped using this foundation I genuinely don’t have a clue. Let me get into the actual review before I get too over excited and start rambling on too much!
Firstly, I want to mention the packaging. Have you ever seen such beautiful packaging? It has always looked like this and I just think that it looks really nice, sophisticated and elegant. I love a little bit of frosted glass for a foundation bottle. It makes it a little easier spending nearly £35 on a foundation when it comes in pretty packaging.
Next, I want to touch on the fragrance of this foundation. It is pretty fragranced, it is really strong and floral, which I know for some people is going to be a big no no. I would say that the smell of this foundation does fade after about 10 or 15 minutes but fragranced foundations have never been something that has bothered me, but I guess that comes from having very normal skin that isn’t sensitive.
When I applied this foundation it just blended out so nicely. It isn’t too thick, nor too watery, it is just a good consistency and when it is blended in with a buffing brush it looks seamless on the skin. I used my trusty Morphe M439 and it looked so perfect when I had everything in place as well as concealer and powder.
I would say that this foundation is a medium coverage but it can quite easily be built up to a more intense coverage. I used my damp Beauty Blender to get more coverage just where I needed it around my cheeks and it looked perfect and almost porcelain. I had this on for a full day at work and it lasted great all day and didn’t seem to falter one little bit.
I really can’t think of why I stopped using this foundation, it must have been just because I got new things to try out and I never really went back to it. But I know this is going to be one of them products that I keep one of in my drawer for that time when I do go back and use it because it is just a reliable foundation that I works time after time. So, if I have an occasion where I have a look in mind and I want my skin to look nice and perfected
I know without a shadow of doubt that I am going to carry on using this foundation and I am going to make a more conscious effort to using it more because my skin has looked so good these past few days and I have got so many compliments.
As normal with all posts here on my blog I will leave links down below in case you want to check this foundation out. Make sure you leave me a comment below if you have tried this Chanel Perfection Lumier foundation and let me know what you think about it!

    1. I would say demi-matte finish. It doesn't make my oily skin even worse!
