Nars Ita Brush Review

I don’t even know where to start when it comes to this Nars Ita Kabuki Brush. This brush has basically sat on my wish list for the last 5 years. I am sure, the first time I saw it was in a contouring video by somebody like Wayne Goss on YouTube and I can just remember how stunning the final look was, so this brush went straight onto my wish list, and that is pretty much where it has lived ever since because just haven’t gotten around to buying it and trying it out. Whenever I have thought about buying it and added it to my basket, there has been something newer and shinier that I have opted for instead, that always tends to be the case with me!
But, the other week for a change, I decided to drag my ass off the internet and actually go and do some physical shopping. I hate going shopping, which is why I do everything online. I love that it is just so much easier and there are no rude or smelly people hovering around me, but sometimes it just helps to see some of the things that I am planning on buying, especially if it is makeup and I am wanting to gauge colours. So, I went up to the Nars counter in House of Fraser because I wanted to try their Nars Weightless Foundation, and that is when I saw this brush for the first time.

Through all of the years of obsessing over this brush, I have never actually seen this or felt it. Almost immediately, I fell in love with it and I raced over to the till to buy it before I saw something else and changed my mind again. At first, I thought that I would love this brush for cream contouring with, but having actually seen this brush and handled it, I knew that it would become a firm favourite for powder contouring and bronzing the skin with because of the shape of the brush head. Almost as soon as I walked back through my front door, I raced to my vanity and started playing around with it.
Straight away, I paired this brush with the Kevyn Aucoin sculpting Powder. With the flat bristles and this powder, I could carve my cheekbones out to the high heavens. This Nars Ita Kabuki Brush just sits so perfectly in the hollows of the cheekbones and allows you to get a really precise contour. Then when I have the product laid down where I want it to be, I will then take this brush and slowly start to blend it out, keeping the contouring product really tight to where I first placed it, it allows the edges to just be really softly diffused, without over blending it.

This brush has quickly become my favourite for any kind of contouring. I will use it on my cheekbones, forehead, jawline, collar bones and even really delicately down the sides of my nose.  This is just a great all-round brush and one thing that I do love about this is because of the size of it, it does the job really well, but it also does it really quickly. Plus, another huge thumb up about this brush for me is that there is absolutely no shedding.
I will leave this post here, I just wanted to let you all know about my new favourite makeup brush that I have been loving for weeks now. I will leave a link to the same brush down below in case you want to check it out. Make sure you leave me a comment down below and let me know if you have tried this brush and tell me if you have another favourite brush for contouring with and I will have to check it out!

  1. Ooh this brush has been on my wish list for the longest time too! I have a Nars brush which came in a set and it shed's like mad, so it's always put me off trying this.

  7. I LOVE this brush, it's so expensive though, like ridiculous. But there is truly no other brush like it, there's no cheaper options! It's so unique and it works amazingly, I couldn't agree with you more. I got this a few Christmas's ago and it still works as great as it did day 1, although, I do find it sheds quite a lot!

    1. I haven't noticed any shedding, but I guess I haven't been using it for that long. I will have to keep an eye on that!
