July Favourites

It was only a month ago, that I was sat here ranting about the fact that we are already in July and here we are in August already. I have been a little bit naughty and have been buying even more makeup this month than normal so I have some nice, new, shiny goodies that I am going to share with you in this favourites post. I feel like these past couple of months I have been lacking in new makeup products!
I think some of these items are going to be in my favourites for a very long time. I have fallen hard and fast for these products and I can see myself using then non-stop while the warmer months are here to stay. There isn’t very many of them this month because I have been trying to wear a little mess cake on my face, but they are just really nice, high quality products. Anyway, I will jump into the post…

This foundation has been in pretty much every single one of my favourites posts since I bought it and for good reason really. This stuff is full coverage, super lightweight on the skin, really nice and blendable and best of all super quick to use. One layer of this and I am good to go for a nice medium to full coverage look, then if I want to build it up I will just go over with a really small swipe and it gets such a nice but full coverage look. I have always loved a good stick foundation and I really can’t see one beating this for some time!

When I first tried this concealer, I knew that it would be part of my ride or die collection. Anything that is matte, more or less has my name all over it and I need to try it out straight away. I love to apply this with my finger and pat it under my eyes and then I go in with my damp Beauty Blender and it just makes my under eyes look flawless. I have tried hell of a lot of concealers over the years but I have never used anything that makes my under eyes look as perfected as what this concealer does.

I can’t believe that it has taken so long for me to try this foundation out. I think like everybody else in the world I have seen this foundation splashed all over YouTube and social media, so it might have taken me a few years but I am so happy that I have finally got around to trying it out. This is full coverage but goes on the skin nice and smoothly. I have a lot to cover, particularly on my cheeks but just one layer of this and everything looks so smooth and perfected. I can see this been my number one for a very long time!

This will probably come as no shock to any of you but the YSL Shocking Mascara is back in my favourites. Last month it was the Maybelline Sensational Lashes Mascara, but this month it is the YSL Shocking. I always go back and forth between these two. It just makes the lashes look really long, thick and black. It goes on really wet, but dries in seconds and is then fixed in place. I have never had any transferring or smudging with this mascara. It really is my number 1 high end mascara and I don’t think I will ever tire of using it!

I have finally found a mauve lipstick that is deep enough for my skin tone, but that still actually looks mauve and not a deep brown. I have tried so many neutral lipsticks over the years and none of them have ever seemed right for my skin colour. I am very olive based and I always have a very deep tan, so neutrals on me always tend to look more like nudes. This however is just perfect. It looks so pretty on and is nice and deep. To others this probably is a brown shade but to me and my complexion, it is just the most perfect colour  every!
There you have it, my August favourites. I am sure you will have seen some of the items mentioned here on my blog because I just can’t seem to get away from them, but there are a couple newbies in there that I can see myself been obsessed with for a very long time indeed.
Leave me a comment below and let me know what you’ve been loving this month and I will check some of them out. I will also leave links down below to everything that I’ve mentioned in case you want to check any of them out and see why I love them so much!

  7. I really really want the hourglass stick foundation, its just A LOT of money gone to waste if I don't like it, I'd be so pissed. I might ask for it for Christmas haha! I love the NARS concealer though, I like it a lot better than their radiant creamy, I just wish it wasn't in a pot because it's a bit of a nightmare when you've got 10 inch nails!
