Dior Poison Perfume Review

The Dior Poison Girl Perfume has been on my radar since the other year when it was fresh of the press and it was splashed all over the internet. I feel like all of a sudden, every blogger, vlogger and influencer was walking about Dior Poison Girl and had it splashes all over. It was bloody good marketing, because it made me want it almost immediately, including the silk Dior bomber jackets that some of the women were wearing for the campaign. Anyway, I actually went out and bought one and I really could not be happier with it, so I thought that it was about time that I did a blog post on it.
Luckily for you guys, I already know that this is going to be a relatively short blog post. When it comes to being articulate and trying to describe fragrances, I just cannot do it. I could talk about makeup all day long, but when it comes to scents, I just cannot express myself very well. If something smells good and I like it then I will buy it and it is pretty much case closed for me. Anyway, I will give this a go for the Dior Poison Perfume.
Normally when I buy a fragrance I will always go for the biggest bottle, I just hate buying a 30ml bottle and it is running out after using it around 5 times. But with this, I did only go for the 30ml version. I went shopping with my mum when I bought this and she was surprised that I liked it. She admitted that she liked it, but back when she was younger and the original Dior Poison was released she said that it was really over powering and clung to her skin and clothes and was just far too intense for her.

Now, I like loads of perfumes, but if something is too strong I tend to get headaches from it, I am more into subdued scents that are just subtle and pretty rather than overbearingly strong. So, I thought in this case it would be best to go with the smallest bottle so that I can see how it wears and how I find it. My true test for a perfume is when I am at work, I always want to be able to smell my perfume at the end of the day of running around even if it is ever so subtle.
But, I have to say that I have really been loving this perfume. Since, I bought this Dior Poison Girl Perfume, it is pretty much all I have been wearing, even over my Chanel No 5 and my treasured Jo Malone Wood Sage and Seat Salt. This is a deep, floral scent which reminds me of a cross between my YSL Black Opium and the Chanel Coco Noir, which are two of my favourite perfumes that I wear all of the time. This kind of smell I find is just very suited to me, it has that kind of rock chick kind of vibe running through it, which is just what I want.

When I put this on in a morning it is a really strong scent, but isn’t too overbearing for me. But just remember, what isn’t too strong for me, may be different for somebody else. I find that when I am just sat at work typing at my desk, I feel like I can’t smell it, then if I move and start walking and it moves the scent around a little I find that I can start to smell it again and it just smells incredible. Even after having this on for 10 hours and not re-spritzing it still smells so incredible.
Now, that is about as much as I can say about this perfume, but if you have been considering getting this perfume or are on the market for something new then I would highly recommend popping into a store and trying this one out. I will link down below to where you can find this in case you want to check it out. Make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know what perfume you have been wearing recently!

  1. Good that it lasts so well! I definitely agree that scents are super personal and will vary person to person but this is a cute bottle! Might give it a sniff next time I can haha
