My Most Used Makeup

This post is all about my most used makeup. If you have read my blog before, or even just had a quick flick through it, you can probably see what I am obsessed with makeup. I guess I always have been. From being really young, it is all I wanted to spend my money on and play with. And now, even though I am 22, I am still exactly the same. It has just been an obsession that seems to be getting more intensified for me as I get older, and more expensive!
But, because I do upload so many posts about makeup I thought that I would do a post to cut through all of that and just let you know what my favourite products are. Well not really my favourites, because I have far too many favourites, this is my most used makeup. To help me create this post, over two weeks I did a tally of the makeup that I used and there were some definite stand out winners!
Anyway, without any further rambling, I will jump into the post…

1)       Clinique Moisturiser
Over the past few months I have fallen in love with this moisturiser. I have always had an oily skin type and it is only in the past few months that my skin has turned more combination with the occasional dry patch, so I have been having to try out new products to try and counteract that. I didn’t know what moisturiser to try, so I opted for this thinking that it would be reliable with it being Clinique and I was right. This really smooths out my skin and makes it so silky and just gives me a perfect base for going in with makeup. I have had no issues recently with my dry skin and that is all thanks to this moisturiser.

For the longest time, I was watching people using this foundation and I was green with envy. I really wanted to give it a go, but I just didn’t think that it would work for me. But after years of lusting I thought that it was about time that I gave it a go. I bought it and tried it out and I loved it straight away. I now have it in about 5 different shades for when I am the various stages of tanned-ness. But as an everyday foundation for work, this is my most used foundation. I just love that it has a medium to full coverage, but it feels really lightweight and comfortable on the skin. Not to mention that it looks absolutely stunning and really perfects the skin. I am obsessed with this product.

My love affair with this concealer stretches way back. I think I first bought this about two years ago and I am still obsessed with it. I don’t even want to think about how many tubes I have gone through of this stuff over the past two years. What I love is that it is a nice medium coverage, that is good and blendable and makes you look super flawless. Plus, I just love how it applies from the wand. You get a decent amount of product on the wand when you pull it out and the flexible tip makes it really comfortable for you to put on your face. God knows that I would do one day if they discontinue or change this concealer, I know there are many more on the market, but this by a country mile is my favourite.

I can say that without a shadow of a doubt this is my go to powder. I keep it in my drawer right next to my Laura Mercier and there is no question about it, I will always go in with this powder. It just locks everything in place and is great for my combination skin. I never get any dry or flaking patches with this powder like I can with others, as far as a setting powder goes, this one is quite moisturising. Plus, when I bake with this lightly under my eyes it really smooths the whole area out and makes it look super flawless, which I personally love. I have even used this to set my false tan and that works perfectly as well. For the sake of £10 and three times the amount of product that you normally get with a setting powder, I would give this a go!

I am a lover of bronzer so the fact that this bronzer has made it into this post is probably not a surprise to anybody. I recently have been torn between using this bronze and the MAC Give Me Sun, but this won by a very small percentage. I just love that this bronzer makes you look naturally tanned and not just like you have thrown on a tonne of bronzer. I use this all year round because you can use a lighter hand in the colder months and it just makes you look healthy, then in the summer months you can go in a little more intense and it just makes you look sun kissed. I know for a fact that this is going to be a bronzer that I am going to be repurchasing very soon when I hit the pan.

I have been using this product for months constantly, day in and day out without a break. I am actually incredibly surprised that I haven’t already hit pan on it. I like to take just a small amount of this contouring product right on the tip of my Charlotte Tilbury Powder & Sculpt Brush and then take it right into the hallows of my cheekbones to really carve them out. I have the deeper shade and it is just an ideal contouring product for my more tanned skin tone. I am even thinking about getting the medium shade for when I am touch paler, because I use this all of the time. If you are looking for a good contouring product and aren’t opposed to dipping your hand into your pocket a little, I would really recommend giving this a go.

I know for a fact that if you have visited my blog before that you will have probably seen this blusher in a post before. I first got this and I wasn’t so sure about it. Anybody that knows me, knows that I am a bronzer person over a blush person. But, this was so pretty and I wanted to give it a go, but it was £35, which seemed a little bit steep for a blush, but I really wanted to try it out. I now use this shade every single day without fail. What I love is that it is basically two shades in one with the lighter ring and the deeper inner colour. I will use one of the shades or the two mixed together and they are so stunning.

Ages ago I created my own MAC palette and it is pretty much all I ever use. I paid for each colour that is inside it, so I use and love every single shadow that is in that palette, which means that I reach for it near enough every day. I usually just take one or two neutral shades for my normal go to natural look. But I will also use the deeper brown matte eyeshadows for my brows because they work just as well as regular eyebrow powders. Everybody knows that MAC is a good and reliable brand, plus the other good thing about this palette is that when a shadow runs out I can just get one replacement rather than a whole palette.

I have always been a lover of a good cat eye and this is the perfect product for the job. Over the years, I have tried loads of liquid eyeliners and this is the baby that I always go back to. I first bought this probably 6 years ago and I still love it and it is my absolute go to. It is jet black and is super easy to apply with the thick felt tip end, but you can still get a really precise and pointed wing when you use a light hand and go in gentle. One tube of this can last me a year, I know that isn’t hygienic, so shoot me. But, they just last a really long time and look great each and every time. When I worked, freelance I used this all the time because time and time again it looked amazing.

For everyday use, I always opt for my Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. I have loved this mascara from day one, I can honestly say that it is the best drugstore mascara that I have ever used. What I love about it how the wand is. It is curved and like a little comb more than a brush so it really splays the lashes out and makes them look really fanned out and thicker. This way, you don’t get any clumping and it makes them look loads longer and thicker. If you are looking for a good drugstore mascara, I would highly recommend this one, for a couple of pounds, I really do not think that you can go wrong.

It took me a while to fall in love with this brow pencil. Genuinely, the only reason why I bought this brow pencil to start with was because I saw Rosie Huntington-Whitely using it on her snapchat, and obviously, anything that a babe like that uses, I have to go out and buy. When I first bought this, I have to admit that I didn’t love it straight away, but that was down to how I was using it. I forced myself to try this out and now I am hooked on it. It is just so creamy and glides on the skin so smooth. When you use different strokes, and amounts of pressure it makes the brows look really natural, plus the spooly on the opposite end is nice and thick and great for my bushy ass eyebrows.

Before I used this brow gel, I thought it would be a bit of a fad. Surely nobody needs to gel their brow hairs into place, it’s not like they blow around in the breeze. But, it isn’t until I actually tried this out that I realised that I need to have it and use it every single day, or I feel like my makeup isn’t finished properly. I use this gel once I have filled my eyebrows in, the gel just helps to manipulate where the hair naturally lays to make them either look fuller or it just helps to hide sparse areas. I have been obsessed with this for the longest time and I even have to have a spare one sat on my shelf, just in case.
I know in this post I am completely missing our primers and lip products, but on the daily for when I go to work, I tend not to use these. It is either through laziness because I can’t be bothered first thing in the morning when I am getting ready, or just because I don’t want it that day. I tend to just use the Nivea original lip balm on my lips. So, there you have it, my most used makeup.

As normal, I will leave links to everything that I have mentioned down below and if you want to see my full review on anything just click the name of the product above. 7. I've heard so much great stuff about the Clinique moisturiser! The powder sounds pretty great too. I haven't tried Sheer Glow but I tried All Day Luminous recently and was pleasantly surprised. I have oily/combination skin so I tend to steer clear from foundations that say glow/dewy/luminous. I really liked the All Day Luminous so I just might give the Sheer Glow a chance too. I agree, Lash Sensational is definitely one of the best mascaras out there! xx
