My Contouring Essentials

I am obsessed with contouring. I have been since the craze first arrived and I have been ever since. Whenever I do my makeup I have to contour because if not I feel like my face is as big of the sun and like it is a big blob.

I love both liquid, cream and powder contouring, but I don’t do I everyday because I just don’t have the time. Trust me if I did have the time to do it, I would because I really do love it and I love how it looks when it is done.

So, I wanted to do a post and let you know my contouring essentials. These products that I am going to mention are for all forms of contouring and there should be something for everybody in here. I just want to say that just because these products have worked so well for me, doesn’t mean they will be the same for you, but I really do swear by these products!

1)             LA Girl Pro Concealer

I cannot believe that this product is only like £3. This is incredible and it is my first choice for contouring whenever I want that extra bit of glam. This applied really well and blends out so seamlessly. I use the MAC 130 and it looks so high end and stunning. I have been using this for years now and I have never had an issue with it. I do have to admit that I like the deeper shade much more than the highlighting shade, but for the money, I really don't think you can getter!

2)             Bobbi Brown Stick Foundation

Another amazing contouring product is the Bobbi Brown stick foundation. This is a couple shades deeper than my natural skin tone. The good things about this is that it has good coverage so my hyperpigmentation doesn’t show beneath it and it blends away really nicely. I have really taken to applying this straight to the face and then pressing it into the skin and blending it out using a dry Beauty Blender, this way it doesn't remove any of the product.

3)             Chanel Cream Bronzer

I love the Chanel Cream Bronzer to help when it comes to blending out other products. Such as when I apply the Bobbi Brown stick foundation I will then use this as a blending medium to make sure that all of the products look seamless. Or if I am just wanting to look nice and sun-kissed I will just go in with my foundation as normal and then take my MAC 187 blending brush and just take it all over my face to give me a glow. This is a really raved about product for a reason, because it is a really outstanding creme product!

This is an amazing product for when I want to contour but I don’t want it to be too harsh. This is ideal and not only does it contour but it gives a glow to the face and brings dimension back into the face. Not to mention that the highlight shade is gorgeous. The contouring shade in this palette isn't very deep, but for just a nice and natural contour is is my go to. Plus, they do a lovely second shade for deeper skin tones which has lovely undertones!

5)             MAC Studio Fix Powder in NW58

Just because this is a face powder doesn’t mean that it can’t be use to contour. I have a shade which is deeper than my natural skin tone, and I just take this on my CT brush and blend it in to the hollows of my cheekbones, jawline and around the top of my forehead. I have been using this for years now and because of the pan being so large with it being a normal face powder, one of these pans of powder lasts me for a very long time!

6)             Charlotte Tilbury Powder & Sculpt Brush

For contouring this brush is ideal. Because of the shape and the tapered edge, it sinks right into the hollow of your cheek and just aids you carving it out. I have been using this for months now and cannot imagine using another brush to powder contour.

That is, it for this contouring essentials post. I hope you enjoyed this post. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them in the box below and I will get right back to you.

  1. I think I need the Chanel cream bronzer. I don't generally go for cream products and struggle with cream blush, but I find cream bronzer and contour so much easier to work with!
