Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick vs Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation

I wanted to write a blog post about these two foundations because I am in love with them both. The Marc JacobsRemarcable Foundation has been my go to foundation for around a year now, I fell madly in love with it from the first time that I used it. Then, when I picked up the Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick I have been using it constantly.

So, I thought why not do a comparison post on these two foundations. I am not saying by doing this that they are similar or meant to be anything like each other but they both have really good coverage and work really well for me. I just wanted to give people a little helping hand in case you are considering any of these foundations.

First up I want to mention the amount of product that you get with these foundations. Firstly, with the Marc Jacobs you get 22ml. Which for a standard liquid foundation is pretty poor, the normal amount for a foundation is around 30ml. But, they do say that because of the high level of pigmentation that a little goes a lot further than a normal foundation. With the Hourglass Vanish Stick Foundation you get 7g of product which is minuscule. It is tiny, the MAC Studio Fix Concealer has 7g of product in it. Again, they say that this is down to it been so pigmented and blendable.

Now, onto the packaging. The HourglassVanish Stick Foundation wins this one hands down in my opinion. It is so sleek, and unlike any other foundation stick that I have tried before. It is just stunning and feels really weighty and luxurious. The Marc Jacobs Remarcablefoundation has nice packaging don’t get me wrong but it just isn’t as nice as other higher end foundation bottles.

Next, onto how the product is dispensed. The Hourglass is obviously a stick foundation, so you just swipe it on your face, blend and then you are good to go. The Marc Jacobs when you open it up and unscrew the lid it has a wand inside for you to swipe the product onto your face with it.

Consistency is next on the list. The Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation feels really nice when you start to blend it on the skin. It does feel really smooth and just glides so nicely around the skin. The Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick is super creamy. You put this on your face and then it blends out really easily.

Next is coverage. Both of these foundations are meant to be full coverage foundations and I really agree with that. When I apply a light layer of the Marc Jacobs Foundation it covers absolutely everything, I never need to touch up with more product on my problem areas. The Hourglass Vanish is ever such slightly sheerer than the Marc Jacobsfoundation, but only a touch. I do have to add another layer over my hyper pigmentation., but only a small amount.

Now, I want to touch on how these foundations actually feel on the skin. The Hourglass Vanish Stick Foundation does feel nice when you first apply it, but can feel quite tough when you are blending it out. But when it is on the skin it feels fine, I never have any issues with it. The Marc Jacobs feels nice when it is on the skin but as the day goes on it can start to feel a little oilier.

Finally, I am going to mention the price of these foundations. The Marc Jacobs is £37, which I initially thought was steep. But, then I tried the Hourglass Foundation and was taken aback by the £42 price tag, for 7g of product!

I genuinely don’t think that I would be able to choose between these foundations because I love them for different reasons. The Hourglass is a great everyday foundation because of how it applied and how comfortable it is on the skin. The Marc Jacobs I love for when I want to go full glam and I don’t want to be able to see my skin underneath.

I will link below to both of these foundations in case you want to check them out!
