Benefit Porefessional Primer vs Makeup Forever Step 1 Primer

I wanted to do a post comparing these two primers because I have been loving them both for months now. I have said it before here no my blog but I am a girl with an oily skin type. It isn’t anything excessive, but I am definitely on the oiler end of the skin spectrum. It is really just around my nose.

When I apply primers I only use them in the oily problem area around my nose. I have never felt the need to apply primer all over my face because on the rest of my face I have never had an issue with my makeup lasting, it is purely to try and combat oil control.

Normally when I do a comparison post I go all into every single aspect of the product. With a primer I think it is going to be a little different so I am just going to make this post as short and punchy as possible. The two most important things that a primer needs to do for me is feel nice on the skin and secondly, does it control my oil?

Firstly, with the Makeup Forever Step 1 Primer when you first start to apply this to the face it feels quite sticky and tacky. I always work the product in-between my fingers before applying it to my face, then I go in with it around my nose and the pores around there.  I really work it into the skin to make sure that it isn’t just sat there. I always allow it time to soak in, but I have to admit that I do have to give it 10 minutes so that it doesn’t feel sticky on the skin anymore.

When I first apply the Benefit Porefessional Primer it just glides right onto the skin. I don’t want to sound too one sided in this comparison but the way that this primer goes on the skin is just perfection. When you apply it to the face it instantly makes your face feel like silk, I can no longer feel my texture, it just feels perfectly smooth.

Now for do these products actually control my oil. The Makeup Forever does control my oils temporarily. I would probably say I can go a good 4 hours or so without having to blot or worry about powdering. After that I can see the oils coming through around my nose. With the Benefit Porefessional it keeps my oils at bay pretty much all day. That for me is a complete win for me. It evens makes my makeup last pretty well when I am running around and getting warm.

I know this comparison was pretty one sided but since mentioning both of these products on my blog people have been wanting to know what is the better of the two. In my opinion that is the Benefit Porefessional, it is just out of this world for my skin type.

As normal with all posts here on my blog I will leave links down below in case you want to check anything out. Make sure you leave any comments or questions that you have below and I will get right back to you!

  3. I tired Porefessional a couple of years ago and didn't get on with it then, but I think I need to give it another go! I've got similar skin to yours so anything that will battle the nose oil is a winner :)
