Life Lately

I thought that it was about time that we had a little catch up here on my blog. I feel like I am super busy recently and that I don’t have two minutes to myself and to be honest I feel quite disconnected from my blog and the lovely people who read it, so to me this is a perfect time to do a life lately kind of post and catch you guys up on what I have been doing.
Firstly, work has been crazy lately. For those who don’t know I am a marketing executive and as much as I love my job and I honestly don’t see myself working in any other kind of position, it can be pretty stressful. I work close with the directors and at the minute I have a lot on my plate. I feel like it comes in waves, one moment everything is calm and fine, then the next it is mental and I am struggling to stay above ground with it.
Obviously, with full time job needs to come before everything else and when I have been getting in from work I have been shattered and just been super lazy, which is why I think I am feeling a slight disconnect from my blog. To try and stay consistent with my uploading I have been pre-writing and scheduling in my blog posts which is great, it just means that I can get a little lost and forget where I’m at with my blog, and the inner control freak in me really doesn’t like that.

So, at the minute I am just trying to regain a little control of everything and find a new normal for me to work to while things are this busy. I just don’t want to bite off more than I can chew because I don’t want my standards on my blog or in my full-time job to falter in anyway.
I am also in the process of buying my first house. For anybody who doesn’t know but me and my boyfriend are trying to purchase our first home together, it is something that we have been looking into for a while and I feel like we are finally at a stage where the ball is rolling. We have seen the perfect home and our offer has just been accepted. So, now we are just trying to work out what comes next. We have had our mortgage accepted and it is now in the hands of our solicitor. I cannot wait just to have the keys in my hands and finally have somewhere that I can decorate from head to toe!
In sadder news, my trusty little Fiat 500 will soon be getting sold! I have had my little car for nearly 4 years now and I love it. The little thing has never let me down and it is so nice and reliable. The only issue that I have is that it is just so small. It is near on impossible to get anybody in the back of it and if people manage to wedge themselves in the backseats it is incredibly hard to get back out of it. Plus, I can barely fit Martha my 6 month Golden Retriever inside it anymore. The plan is to get a Nissan Juke, but I am going to see if I can buy my Jeep which is my dream car, but with the house, that may have to be put on hold!
I rushed my way through my driving test in order to help my nan and grandad when they get older because there isn’t much family around them that live locally that can help them and them that do live locally can’t drive. So, I need a car that they can easily get in and out off to help them out when they need to get out and about. Same with anybody else really, I just want people to be able to get in and out without nearly snapping their backs in half!
I don’t think I have that much left to say really…
Other than me and the bf are off to Italy soon and I don’t think I have ever been so excited for a holiday. I have been dreaming about going back to Italy for years because Rome is my favourite place on the planet. I just can’t wait to wander round and take in all of the monuments and architecture, drink far too much white wine and gain about 3 stone from all of the food that I’m going to consume!
So, hopefully over the next couple of months I should start to be a little more active on my blog and reaching out to other people as I finally start to find a new normal!

  3. Same here! I'm doing an internship in Brussels as a communication intern and we are organizing our annual conference (that it's now 2 weeks away) and it's mad! I'm always so tired and stressed out :(
Have a nice little getaway in Rome and next time you should definitely come to Bologna, my hometown. The food is so good you won't regret it :)
