Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Deep Review

The Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder is one of their cult classic products, it is right up there with their Sensual Skin Enhancers so I knew that I had to try it out. This item has been on my wish list for the longest time, but for some reason I have just been putting off buying it. I feel like a couple years ago, this was really popular, then the buzz kind of died down, and now it is back and really popular again so I had to buy it!
I think the main thing that put me off buying this was the colour. The shade that everybody seemed to have was Medium and as good as it looked on other people I didn’t think it would look great on me. I have quite a deep and olive based tone and I just didn’t think this would be dark enough for my skin tone. So, I put off buying it.
Then one day after much browsing on Space NK I decided to order it but I went for the shade Deep. I was a little nervous to order it because I have literally not seen anybody online talking about this shade, but just thought that surely it would be the same formulation as the Medium shade.

But I got it, tried it out and I have to admit that I am obsessed with it. I have been using it every single day and I have tossed aside every single other contouring shade that I had in my drawer. The main thing that I love about this contouring product is the shade of it. It is a deep tone but still has that popular ashy undertones which makes it a true contouring product.
You may already know from other posts but for years I have been using the MAC Studio Fix Powder to contour with, I just have a deep shade and it has worked like a dream. I have to admit that I have only reached for that a couple times since I bought this Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder, which I think is pretty good going to say that I have been using that for going on 4 years to contour!
One thing I do really love about this product which I know isn’t very important but I love it, is the packaging. When I first got, it I didn’t realise how small it was going to be. The packaging is pretty small, but I guess that doesn’t matter when what is inside is good stuff. The top of the packaging is really nice and sleek and then to get to the product inside there is a button along the front that you have to press. It doesn’t make a difference of course but when I pay this much for a makeup product I want it to at least look the part.

Now that I have tried this and I love it I think that I will invest and get the Medium shade for the times when I am paler and don’t have as much of a tan. I just think that this is a great product and it just makes contouring so easy because it is really nice and blendable and makes your face look like you have natural hallows without been too intense.
As normal with product reviews here on my blog I will leave links down below to where you can find this product in case you are interested in finding out some more. Be sure to leave me any questions that you have down below in the comments.
